It was still dark outside when you opened your eyes. You could feel the steady rise and fall of Ashton's chest against your back. You glanced at the clock and saw it wasn't even seven am yet, but you were so excited about today you didn't even care.

It's finally Christmas, and not just Christmas, but your very first one with Ashton.

You rolled over to stare at him. You know he's tired but you're so excited you can hardly sit still. You tapped his shoulder and he grunted before pulling the blanket further over him and slipping back into his deep sleep. You groaned and shook his shoulder until he awoke with a groan. "What is it, y/n?"

"Ashton! It's time to get up!" He blinked his eyes open, the darkness of the room and the feeling of your warm skin on his only making him want to fall back asleep. He looked at the clock and shook his head. "Y/n it's not even 7 yet. It's too early."

You pouted at him. "But... it's our first Christmas together."

He sighed and put his arm around you. "It is, isn't it?" You nodded, laying your head on his chest and staring up at him with sad eyes. "Oh, alright. I'm up."

You tried to climb off of him to go downstairs but he pulled you right back down. "Hey," he paused, stroking your face softly. "Merry Christmas, baby girl." You smiled and kissed him softly, brushing the tip of your nose against his. "Merry Christmas, baby. Now come on, let's go open gifts!"

He whined as you pulled him out of bed, away from the warmth of the blankets and soft mattress. "You stay here, I'll be right back." He said and kissed the top of your head when you sat on the floor in front of the tree that was lit up and decorated beautifully.

"And don't you dare try to open any of those while I'm gone!" He teasingly yelled as he walked into the kitchen making you giggle. You started to peek around the gifts. You admired how perfectly wrapped the ones to you were, your boyfriend decorated them so wonderfully and it was only making you more excited.

You reached to grab one when Ashton crept up behind you. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" He teased and sat in front of you, scooting some hot chocolate your way. "Figured you'd like that."

He was truly so thoughtful and despite your heart leaping in your chest due to how excited you were, you still leaned over and stole a soft kiss from his lips.

"So! Who goes first?"

Ashton rolled his eyes playfully at you before putting one of the gifts into your lap. "You do, silly girl." You grinned and started to tear open the wrapping paper. You let out a small gasp when you saw the sweater that you had been wanting for as long as you could remember sitting in the box.

"How'd you know?" Ashton chuckled. "Y/n you talked about how much you'd been wanting it for weeks." You smiled at him. "I guess I just assumed you'd like it," he joked, smiling when you kissed his cheek.

He went to hand you another gift when you pushed his hand away and handed one to him instead. "I didn't really know what to get you but I figured you'd like this."

He tore the wrapping paper away and his eyes lit up when he saw what was inside. "They're drumstick pencils. So you can play and write whenever you want." He put them down and stared at you with a gaze that melted your heart.

"Do you like it?"

He took your hands and pulled you onto his lap. "Are you kidding? I love it. I'm gonna use them every single day." He said as his arms circled around your back and his lips lightly touched yours.

You put your head on his shoulder and let out a sigh of contentment. You could've sworn that in that moment, you had never been happier.

"I love you so much. Merry Christmas, my love. I promise that this is only the first of many." He whispered in your ear, planting a few kisses behind it, making you melt against him.

"I love you too, Ashton."

The rest of the gifts could wait a little bit. You were just soaking in the moment with your boyfriend, already envisioning the many Christmas's you'd share together for years to come.
