I was locked in my room again with no food. Usually, I wouldn't mind this. After all, it's practically become a daily occurrence by now.

What did bother me, was the fact that it's been almost a week since I last ate something.

I've worn loose clothing ever since I was little, so Jihyun never noticed when I got skinnier. But if I get any skinnier than I already am, Jihyun would find out.

I had to eat something soon, even if I didn't want to. I had to get out.

I grabbed a hoodie, face mask, hat, and shoes before running to my window quietly. I was on the second floor, so it'd be hard to sneak out. Luckily Jihyun and I would always sneak out when we were younger, so I had a few tricks up my sleeve.

Once I was out, I snuck away to town. I breathed in the night air with awe.

It had been weeks since I presented, meaning the last time I breathed in the fresh air.

I learned many things that night as I walked down the streets.

How dirty the city is. How terrifying people can be. How lonely it can feel. And how strong scents are.

I tried my best to block the scents surrounding me. It's been so long since there was this much around me, especially with heightened senses.

I shivered from the cold, burying my hands further into my jacket.

It didn't take long for trouble to come my way. I smelled something rotten following me and discovered that an Alpha was trying to corner me in an alleyway, but I was smarter.

I turned the corner to an empty area and waited to kick him in the nuts.

He keeled over in pain and I took the chance to knee him in the face.

As his head hit the ground, I checked my surroundings to find anything useful and found a wooden bat.

The man tried to get up, so I hit him on the back of the head with the end of the bat, just hard enough for him to fall unconscious.

When he did, I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, which was getting a bit long.

I weighed my options before digging into the man's pockets.

I threw away the bat that was still in my hand and pulled out his wallet, opening it to find his ID and fifty dollars in cash.

I scoffed, "Lucky me." I took a mental note of the man's face and name before pulling out the fifty and tossing the wallet onto the guy's chest.

I checked the area to make sure there were no witnesses before pulling my hat further down my face, just in case. I pulled down my mask and sniffed the air to find no other scent in the area besides mine and the man on the floor before pulling the mask back into its place.

I sighed before stuffing my hands into my jeans, "It's a good thing I grabbed these before running out."
