~Taehyung~
On my sixteenth birthday, I presented as a Beta. My noona and I celebrated my birthday alone together since our parents were usually away for work.
We don't know where they work as we don't really ask, but our parents have a passion for it.
They came home late that night, around eleven, with a cake and some money as a gift. They always did this whenever they missed something like our birthdays.
I'm grateful to them and my sister. Without them.. I don't know what my life would be like...
My social life wasn't exactly exciting.
I had many.. friends, but we never did anything together.
It didn't take me long to find out why. What no one knew was that I presented with sensitive hearing, almost like a wolf's.
I could hear what everyone said behind my back, what they really wanted from me..
My parents helped me become used to it. They taught me how to control it.
Being a Beta, no one would expect you to have wolf attributes, making it easier for others to talk crap.
I found out that I'd been used for years.
Not only do I have good grades, but I'm also really good at convincing parents.
It hurt to hear what the people I trusted were saying about me, what they really thought of me..
I let it go on.. I didn't like being used, but my fear of being abandoned was stronger.
My noona taught me how to tell a lie. Not many people actually know this, which is surprising, but a person's heart skips faster when they tell a lie.
Most people don't usually pay attention to heart beats, so if you're careful enough, you can lie your way out of almost anything.
It went on for a few months or so.
I had gotten used to it- To being used, lied to by everyone..
Until him. He was cute.
I had just left a 'friend' of mine when I heard them talking.
It was the same thing again.
"What is it this time?" "I asked him for the answers to my math homework." "Aren't you just using him? You're always asking him for something.."
I almost let out a sigh when I heard him.
"You shouldn't use people."
I took a glance to the side to find him there, standing next to the two with a hard glare at them both.
"J-Jungkook.. I-I wasn't-." "Don't do it again."
Once he left, the two sighed in relief. "Man, he's terrifying. To think he's only a freshman." "Right."
Jeon Jungkook. The former King of Seoul Middle School. Everyone was scared of getting on his bad side. There were tons of rumors about him.
Rumors of him being a 'bad boy', of him beating others to the brink of death from pissing him off, etc.
Even the senoirs were afraid of him.
He was good at everything too, one of his talents being in taekwondo with a black belt.
Everyone thinks he'll present as an Alpha, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised either.
He's known to be heartless and cold towards others, but he's really nice if you pay enough attention to him.
He's always helping others.
I smiled as I watched him be joined by Park Jihyun. He's famous in school for being an Alpha from two Beta parents as well as presenting two years early.
They were both in the same class. He's also the only person to get close to Jungkook.
The bell rang, distracting me from my thoughts.
Life went on as usual. Everything was decent for a while, until I bumped into the wrong group.
I made it a habit to pickpocket others for their money, mainly assholes.
It was mostly because I needed it, but I got too used to it.
It became as easy as breathing. Sometimes, I wouldn't even notice until I checked my pockets.
Unfortunately, the group I bumped into were all Alphas with quick eyes.
The moment my hand moved towards their pocket, I was being pushed against a wall.
They were pissed. They tried to beat me up, hitting me in the stomach repeatedly and even hitting my head on the [brick] wall behind me.
Before they could cause any life threatening damage, I kicked the person holding me down in the nuts.
They were all shocked, so I used the distractions to punch the other two in the face before running away.
It didn't take too long until I could hear them running after me.
I ran for my life only to stop under a bridge. I was so busy checking my wounds and trying to catch my breath that I almost didn't hear the rocks shifting.
Before I could react, my lungs were being assaulted by a weird spray.
I could vaguely hear him telling me to be quiet as I coughed my lungs out before dragging me to a bush nearby.
As I tried to regain my breath, I took in his appearance.
He looked around my age. His clothes were dirty and seemed a little small on him. His hair was messy, as if he just woke up.
The most notable thing though, was his eyes. "Stay here."
In that second, we made eye contact. It was only a second, but those eyes were the most beautiful I'd ever seen.
They were a mesmerizing gold.
They shined so brightly within the night, but at the same time, they looked so sad..
I watched him as he rushed back, barely registering the fact that he threw the spray bottle from earlier towards the wall.
Just as he did, the three Alphas from earlier appeared.
I tried my best to stay hidden while watching their interaction. As they started fighting, I could feel my eyes drooping.
Just before I fell unconscious, I could hear a familiar voice.
I couldn't tell where I heard the voice from, but it yelled, "Hyung!"
That was the last thing I heard.
