Chapter Eight
Today was the day of the date, and I was anxiously excited. I woke up with butterflies in the pit of my stomach and a stupid grin on my face. There literally were birds chirping outside my window while the sun shined high in the sky. I didn't want to go to school today, I just wanted to stay home and prepare for later on tonight, but of course I didn't. I had to see Aiden before tonight.
The bad news that I had found out last night wasn't going to let me down, because, I mean, for the rest of my life I was going to get bad news. And this is Aiden freaking Chase, why wouldn't I want to go out on a date with him.
This was my first date, and I was having it with Aiden. Every girl wanted to go on a date with Aiden. I saw the way they would stare at him like he was a piece of meat, and if I was in their shoes I would too. But Aiden has chosen that he liked me and wanted to go on a date with me, so I had to act nonchalant, like his presence didn't have an effect on me.
I was on a rampage going through my closet. This wasn't even the date and I was worrying over what to wear. I had gotten up extra early so that I could look through my wardrobe to find the "pre date outfit" like Rhianan had suggested. I mean honestly I have never heard such a thing as a pre date outfit. Where did she even get that from? But she says she did it with Robert, setting a statement for the real date to come.
After about half an hour I found something nice to wear; a black ribbed tank top, dark ripped skinny jeans, black ankle suede boots and a long chain with glass beads placed sporadically around.
I mean, this set a statement right? It was cute.
My morning today at school was great. There wasn't a lot of unwanted attention on me, and Rhianan and Daniel were there to talk to. Rhianan went on and on about how I've been sitting with Aiden the past couple of days at lunch and how they haven't even been introduced to Aiden at all. Daniel kept saying how hot Aiden was.
Lunch was even better. I sat with Aiden once again. No surprise there.
"You know, after all this time we've been hanging out, you haven't introduced me to your friends," Aiden says.
"Rhianan was saying the same thing this morning," I say looking at him with a twist to my lips.
"Who?" he asks grinning.
"You would know if you were ever around at the right time," I say raising my eyebrows.
"Excuse me?"
"Rhianan says that whenever she sees you, you're alone. Treat everyone like a pariah,"
"Is that so?"
"Yes," I say nodding. "You know, lots of people want to get to know you; to become your friend and you never pay anyone any attention," I say frowning.
"Except you," Aiden says leaning forward grinning.
"Yeah," I agree. "Except me,"
"So, who's this infamous Rhianan? Where is she?"
I turned my body towards the table where my friends and I normally sit at, and pointed. At the table sat Rhianan, Daniel, my brother, and Emily.
"She's the one with the black hair and hazel eyes, staring intently at us," I say smirking as I waved at her before turning back around.
"Hmm, I think your friends miss you," Aiden says turning to me, looking in my eyes. "You do have a life. I shouldn't be monopolizing all your time," he finishes seriously.
