"so you're telling me you let her go off with a random dude?" mom gasped, dramatically clutching her chest. "it's not like I let her" i rolled my eyes, waiting for her to lash out on me.

"whatever you do, don't leave your sister alone. what if someone actually kidnapped her? you need to grow some responsibility" she yelled.

"i need to grow responsibility? more like you do, same with dad. i'm so fucking tired of this house" i sighed, getting up and going to my room, slamming the door behind me.

i grabbed my wallet, as well as an already rolled up joint and my lighter. i then jumped down through my open window and walked along the streets, smoking and not caring for a thing in the world.

i get why she would be mad at me, but telling me i'm not responsible, when she should look in a mirror? yeah i'm not dealing with that right now.

by the time i returned back home, the sun was already setting. damn i must've been gone for a while. i walked tthrough the front door and heard talking from the kitchen. i walked into the room and slash? was talking to my parents? the fuck.

"oh finally you're home! i was so worried!" mom said, making me roll my eyes. she always played this fake 'i care about my children' thing when guests come by.

i just hummed back, letting her hug me. "why do you smell like marijuana?" she asked, letting go of me. "none of your business" i talked back, heading upstairs to my room.

i collapsed on my bed and sighed out. i hate being treated like this, and it was always taken out on me. i was just starting to doze off when i heard rocks clicking against my window.

confused, i stood up and walked over, seeing a giant ball of curls looking up at me. i slightly smiled, but quickly cocked an eyebrow. "what do you want?" i asked, as nicely as I could. "just wanted to make sure you're okay" he shrugged. oh so he does care?

"yeah I'm fine, just fed up." "i could take you somewhere if you need to get some things off your mind" he mentioned, a hopeful look in his eyes, from what i could tell.

"sure, give me a minute" i smiled, backing away from the window to put on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie.

i climbed down from the window and let him lead me to wherever we were going. "you drink?" he asked and i shrugged, "a little bit." once we got to the destination, i noticed that it was the beach.

"what're we doing here?" i asked, following him onto the sand. "you agreed to getting your mind off things" he shrugged, plopping down on the sand and waiting for me to sit beside him.

"and how is this gonna take my mind off things?" i asked, looking at the ocean. "this will" he smirked, pulling a bottle of jack daniels out of his jacket.

"nice" i exclaimed, taking the bottle from him and taking a huge swig. "how'd you know i was a jack girl?" i smirked handing him the bottle. he just shrugged in response.

"is your mom usually like that?" he asked. "like what?" "getting mad at you?" "yeah, well she aint gonna take it out on my angel sister" I chuckled and he nodded, handing me the bottle again.

i rolled my eyes and laid down on the sand, staring up at the stars. luckily, it was a clear night so all the stars were visible.
