Chapter 48 - I Will Never Forgive You

Kiran's P.O.V -

" why can't they just talk about it " I sighed as I thought of all the crying em had done and how exhausted she was

" he won't , not after last time " James sighed as he turned the tv down and we sat in the muffled sound of the tv whilst James sighed and slumped further into the sofa

What did he mean Connor wouldn't talk to em about what had happened .what had happened last time . It hadn't been brought up in any conversations and Connor always seemed happy around everyone . Yet James had clearly stated that something bad had happened last time . When , why , who what happened , I wanted to know . I needed to know . Connor was one of my closest friends yet I hadn't heard of anything that had happened to him.

I needed to know why

" James ....." I trailed off as he averted his eyes from the tv screen and looked up at me . I felt his eyes stare at me as I found the words to ask him

" wh - what happened last time w - with Connor " i stuttered out as I saw his face crease with memories as he remembered what happened

I didn't know what his reaction was going to be . I was nervous to say the least . It was a topic that never came up in conversation and I never suspected a thing . It was if nothing had happened , when something clearly had . I sat there staring into his eyes as he sighed and remembered . The look on his face indicated that he didn't want to remember but was forced to as they stuck with him and was part of his life .

I didn't know what to do . I shouldn't of asked the question. He didn't want to talk about it , but I had to . I needed to know . He could flip and have a mood change . He could get angry and yell . That wasn't at all like James but anything could happen. I was asking a very personal question . Not everyone wanted everybody and everything to know about their personal lives

He sighed as he turned off the tv and he straightened up . We sat there in silence for a few minutes as he shifted to the edge of the sofa . He turned his body directly towards me as he looked me straight in the eye . He picked up my hands out of my lap and held them . He was gentle and tender not wanting to hurt me .

" Kiran I'm going to tell you something that I have told no one else , only the rest of the boys know " he spoke as I nodded my head slowly

" I need to you to promise not to tell anyone else or to interrupt me when I tell you , I just need to to listen " he spoke again I nodded again slowly and whispered

" I promise "

" okay , when we met Connor he had a girlfriend her name was Georgia and she was just like him. Smart , funny , mischievous , she was wonderful . We thought they were made for each other . She came to band practise lots of times and she became as what you are to us now , our best friends . We would sit up and tell each other stories and have sleepovers , her and Connor just fit together and we thought it would be forever . " he breathed before he carried on , getting to the bad bit

"Then Connor started to wear more brackets than usual he said that fans had given him more or he found some really nice ones somewhere and put them on . We noticed some bruises on his head and on his arms . Finger prints and shoe prints on his arms " his eyes started to swell as I knew he was on the verge of tears . I grabbed his arm and rubbed circles on it. He looked up from his hands and gave me a weak smile . I gave a small nod indicating for him to go on

" we started questioning him about the marks but he just said that he walked into a door or fell over , at first we all believed him but the bruising started to get worse . He became ill frequently and sometimes went unconscious at band practise . He had dizzy spells and was sick . We were all really worried . We told Georgia who seemed genuinely upset . She said shed take Connor to the hospital herself . " I rubbed his hand tears starting to spill down his face
