Chapter 51 - Fine I'll Move

Connor's P.O.V -

5 days since I last saw Emily. 5 days I keep re living the memory of her face when I told her I didn't love her . But that was a complete lie . Why did I even say it. I still love her but I just can't . I don't Give people second chances . I leant not to the hard way. I watched at the nurses checked me for the last time . My blood pressure , my heart condition and that my stitches had healed properly .

I was going home today as my injuries had cleared up and all that could be seen were a couple of scars and a bit of bruising on my face . I still needed crutches to get around but other than that I had no other need to be in hospital. James was picking me up in an hour . I grabbed my crutches from the side of the bed and swung my feet over . They dangled over the edge as I placed one crutch in one hand and my bare feet touched the cold floor. A shiver was sent up my spine as I pulled all my weight into the crutches and tried to walk.

I could walk at a slow speed on them but I hadn't quite mastered the way in how you walk with two massive sticks attached to your arms . I started swinging my arms back and forward , moving my legs at the same time as I became quicker and quicker at walking. I didn't want to be slow and hold everyone up , I wanted it to look like I was walking normally, if I could even do that with crutches . I heard the ward door open and shut as a nurse came through . She took a look around the ward and hurried over to me

" mr ball please you shouldn't be doing that " she said concerned . The nurses and doctors won't allow me to walk if one of them isn't there Incase I have an accident and have to stay in longer . But they can't be with me all the time so how am I meant to practice walking .

" Connor please " I asked I never liked being called mr ball it's too formal

" ok Connor can you please get back into bed you shouldn't be doing this alone" she asked as she laughed at my walking . I was walking crooked and with my back bent over the crutches .

" hey your bit supposed to laugh your a nurse" I argued playfully. She covered her mouth up with her hand as a smile crept up on her face

" nurses do laugh as well you know we're not all serious " he laughed as I sat back down on the bed . I swung my legs back into the bed as she brought the covered up on me . I smiled to her as I sat up and she rested my crutches against my bed

"Well apart from matron but you mustn't say a word " she whispered . She sat down on the bed as I moved my legs out the way and she smoothed out the creases in the bed sheets

" I heard you and that girl arguing a few days ago , is everything alright you seem miserable all the time and always in a world of your own " she whispered as she looked down to the bed. She hung her head low as I stared into darkness for a few minutes . I didn't answer her as we sat there in silence

" but I course you dot want to talk about it to someone like me just a nurse and a complete stranger " she rushed as she quickly stood up . She turned around as her back faced me and took a step

" NO " I shouted as she turned on her heels and faced me once more

"I- I - it's just i - ...." I sighed as my words wouldn't form and I mentally cursed myself for saying anything

" whatever it is , whatever's been done , talk to her she obviously loves you and you think the world of her , just tell her " she smiled kindly

" how do you know that " I asked curious

" I've seen many couples come in and out of this hospital , the way she looks at you is like you are her everything and the way you look at her is as if she is your world , you are lost without each other and you need each other the world just isn't right when you aren't with each other " she finished with a smiled as she stood there , contentment clear on her face
