Chapter 4

‘Now THAT’S what I call fun’ I laughed as we let ourselves back into Katy’s house, she was working late so left us some pizza to put in the oven.

‘Yeah, I suppose it was’ Lily giggled.

‘You’re ridiculous’ I shook my head laughing.

‘What?’ she asked.

‘You, with Jai, I don’t think you could blush more even if you tried.’

She looked down sheepishly and giggled. It was true though, she may have only known him for a couple of days but I knew my best friend, and she was never like this with other boys. We stuck the pizzas in and flicked through the channels on the huge TV. I started looking at what movies were on when Lily’s phone buzzed.

‘Someone’s popular’ I leaned over to try and see who it was, but she twisted her body, blocking my view.

‘Who is it?’ I laughed, reaching over, trying to grab the phone.

‘NO ONE!’ she screeched running into the kitchen.

‘I don’t think it’s possible for ‘no one’ to text you Lily, come on who is it?’ I followed her into the kitchen.

‘It’s Jai, okay?’ she blushed, shoving her phone back into her pocket.

I looked at her and smiled, maybe a little too enthusiastically, I hated getting into relationships myself but people always came to me for advice and I loved being a matchmaker, and I must admit, Jai and Lily were cute. She handed me her phone to look at his text.

‘Tonight was fun ;) how about some company for your walk to school tomorrow? Me and Luke will be at yours at 8 ;) x’

‘wit woooo, two winky faces eh?’ I laughed.

Lily’s P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring out, it was 5:30, I had set my alarm extra early so I would look good. I know I wasn’t going out with Jai, he probably didn’t even like me in that way, but there’s no harm in looking your best. I jumped in the shower, without waking up Becca or Katy then dried and straightened my hair. There’s not much you can do with a school uniform, but I tried my best to make a white shirt and black pleated skirt look okay. I applied a small amount of makeup before Becca burst into the bathroom.

‘Why the hell are you ready so early?’ she asked, rubbing her eyes.

I raised an eyebrow.

‘Ooooh yes, you’re meeting Jai, how could I forget’ she said laughing.

‘Hurry up though, I don’t want him waiting’ I called, walking into the kitchen.

‘I’ll try and be quick’

I grabbed an apple when Katy walked into the kitchen.

‘You look nice! School has a good impression on you then’ she said, smiling.

‘Thank you! Hmmm, it’s okay, but no, I’m meeting some friends on the way to school.’

‘Oh lovely! Well have fun! I’m really sorry, but my boss has called me back late again tonight, but feel free to bring your friends round after school to keep you company!’ she applied some more lipstick from the reflection of the microwave.

‘Yeah, that would be great, thanks Katy!’ I said smirking.

‘Well, are you coming?’ Becca asked, opening the door, I said goodbye to Katy then followed Becca.

As we walked out 2 familiar boys came into view. Luke was leaning against the wall on his phone and Jai stood next to him, staring towards the house.

‘Hey!’ Jai called as we got closer, he opened his arms and we gave each other a quick friendly hug, I heard Becca and Luke sniggering behind me but I just rolled my eyes and started walking.

‘You look great’ Jai said, I swear I saw him blush a little.

‘Erm thanks, but I’m only wearing my uniform’ I looked down, sheepishly, I wasn’t used to compliments.

‘Oh right, yeah, well still’ he smiled.

Luke and Becca laughed and all four of us started to talk about how funny last night was, we all got along great and it felt like I had known the twins for years.

‘Katy, the woman we’re staying with said it was okay for you to come back to ours tonight by the way, so yeah, we could meet out here after school?’ I asked them both as we arrived at school.

Without hesitation, Jai agreed.

‘That’d be great, I’ll see you later’ he then leaned in and kissed my cheek. I could feel my face starting to turn bright red as the boys walked into school. I was falling for a boy who I’d known for 3 days and boy was I loving it.

Again, this is going really slow, but please bare with me until I can get the storyline going (I've got a good one in mind) it’ll get better I promise.
