Chapter 43- Monokumas

She followed Kokichi closely out into the courtyard and down the road. Where was Kokichi leading them? The Monokuma seemed just as confused, but stayed silent and skipped along. Kaede thought about asking him, but something was telling her she should stay silent at the moment. She saw Kokichi glance momentarily at the dorms before walking purposefully passed them. So he wasn't going to his room... so what was down here? The only things that were down here were a couple of the research labs and the exisal hanger. The Kokichi came to an abrupt halt as if he had forgotten something important,

"Go get Shuuichi," he said rather sharply, "and tell him to come to Miu's lab." Kaede frowned at him. She could tell from his mannerisms that this wasn't some sort of game or trick. She nodded wearily. She would have to talk to Saihara. Given that he actually allowed her to talk to him. He was the mastermind of this whole operation, she wouldn't expect him to want to talk to any of them. He didn't come out of his room after all.

Kokichi went to walk away, but stopped again when he noticed the bear beside him had walked over with him.
"Aww sweetie~ as much as I'd like you to come with me, can you go with Akamatsu?" The bear didn't look pleased about this. It seemed the Monokuma also sensed something was amiss.
"Why should I?" The bear retorted defensively. The Monokuma seemed to have thought the same thing as her. Kokichi was planning something, to do with this new Monokuma. That had to be it.

"Because I said so, now see you!" Kokichi spun around swiftly without a backwards glance and began to make his way doesn't the nearby steps. Kaede risked a glance at the Monokuma and saw him standing his eyes fixed on the spot Kokichi had just vacated.
"S-so... shall we go?" Kaede asked tentatively which caused the bear to turn towards her.
"Upupupu~ this is an interesting turn of events." Kaede stiffened, "yep let's go! I can't keep my father waiting too long!" The title fell sourly on Monokuma's voice. Was he worried about what Kokichi might be up to?

Kaede led the way with the Monokuma trailing behind her. A tense silence had fallen upon them as they walked. Kaede didn't like it. With the silence so absolute she could practically hear her heart beating rapidly in the air around her. She had to calm down or Saihara would hear it. He was dangerous. She knew that. He hadn't seemed that bad when she had first met him, but it had been a facade. He was the mastermind. She stopped in front of the door labeled with a little icon she could roughly identify as the guy she had met the day she had come here.

This was it. She just had to knock on the door and tell him. Why did Kokichi want him there anyways? She held her hand up to the door to knock, but something seemed to be holding her back. Was it fear? Was she afraid? Afraid of what she might come face to face with? She gulped and knocked clearly on the door. A few moments of dense silence passed until there was a click of the door creaking open.
"K-Kaede?" The boy stood with his hand on the door frame, his eyes wide. The voice was croaky and soft, nothing how she had remembered it that one day.

Kaede took an automatic step back and she thought she saw a shiver of pain cross Saihara's face.
"Y-yeah-" she coughed, trying to clear her head. There was nothing to be afraid of. He wasn't going to hurt her... "uhm, Ouma wants you," She said keeping her eyes fixed on the floor. "In Iruma's lab." Saihara stood motionless for a minute. It looked like a million different things were going through his head.
"Kokichi... Miu's lab? Why there?" Kaede didn't know how to respond. She was none the wiser on what Kokichi was up to and it's not like she was going to tell him her speculations.

"I-I don't know..." she murmured shortly. Why was Saihara using Ouma and Iruma's first names so casually.
"Upupupupu~ I think you do," the Monokuma cooed from below her.
"M-monokuma?! Why is he-" Saihara began, looking almost frantic. Kaede blinked.
"It isn't the actual one," she began and Saihara's eyes flicked to hers expectantly, she gulped, "it was made by Motherkuma... in that room..." she trailed off. She didn't think Saihara would react well to this news that she and Kokichi had somehow found out about this room, but to her surprise he gaped not in anger, but in surprise.
