Y/n POV

Beep beep beep.

I felt someone holding my hand tightly. I heard slight sniffles as I opened my eyes. Welp, I'm in the hospital. I should've expected it when I jumped in front of Sana. Speaking of which-

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" I asked Sana as she continued to cry, "Do I need to kill someone?"

Sana let out a gasp and immediately hugged me, "You're awake. This is all my fault."

"Oh is that why you're crying? Babygirl I'm fine. See?" I smiled at her, a smile only meant for her.

"I should've moved out of the way though. Instead I just stared at it," Sana pouted.

"People react in different ways, Sana. You can use this experience and learn from it for next time," I coaxed her as we hugged.

Sana let out a sigh and yawned. I opened my blanket and covered us in it. I watched as Sana got comfortable and fell asleep on me. Moments like this reminds me of how we became friends.

Flashback-

I was on the swings at the park when I saw a little girl trip over nothing and start crying. I noticed no one else was with her and ran over to her.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

She looked up and the first thing I noticed was that she looked like a squirrel. Her chocolate eyes caught my attention. Wah she's beautiful.

She started blushing and whispered, "Thank you."

"Huh? For what?" I questioned.

"You called me beautiful..." She said.

It was my turn to blush before I quickly changed the subject, "How old are you? Where are your parents?"

She frowned and said, "I was with them awhile ago but then I saw a butterfly and ran after it. After I lost the butterfly, I realized I was all alone."

I let out a loud whistle and waited. The girl gave me a questioning look, "Why-" she suddenly let out a panicked scream.

I immediately turned around and got ready to attack what made her terrified, only to find my own tiger. Ohhh

"Don't be afraid. It's my pet tiger, Marshmallow." I quickly said.

After a couple of seconds, she calmed down but was still eyeing Marshmallow cautiously.

"She can help you find your parents!" I exclaimed giddily, bouncing on my feet. I think my mood was affecting her because she got on her feet and starting bouncing happily too.

We let out a laugh and stopped bouncing, "We'll be like Sherlock Holmes." I stated, "Marshmallow needs to smell you first to catch your parents scent."

"Okay," She nervously said.

I simply took her hand in mine and approached my pet. Marshmallow took a step forward and sniffed the girl. Almost immediately, Marshmallow turned to the direction the girl came from and made a motion to follow with her tail.

"Let's go..." I realized I never asked for her name, "I'm sorry what was your name?"

The beautiful girl let out a shy smile and said, "Sana."

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl," I smiled, "my name is Y/n."

Hand in hand, we followed Marshmallow as she sniffed out Sana's parents.

"You already found your pet?" Sana questioned.

"Oh yeah. I found her in a cage somewhere in an alley. She was only a kitten." I explained, leaving some parts out.

"Well. She's amazing, just like her owner" Sana let out a shy smile.

I let out a little laugh, "She is amazing. Thank you."

Marshmallow was listening in on our conversation and puffed out her chest, walking proudly.

A couple of minutes passed until Marshmallow stopped so suddenly and sniffed the air. We waited and the tiger's tail was wagging.

Marshmallow turned back to us and ran towards a family near the park swimming pool talking to a police officer. Is that her family?

We ran after her. Sana let out a gasp and started to run faster as she recognized the people, "Mom! Dad!"

Said people whipped around and ran towards Sana with tears in their eyes. I stayed behind and watched their reunion with Marshmallow sitting beside me.

After that I started walking away. "Y/n wait!" I froze as I heard Sana call me.

I turned around and received a hug from Sana, "Come meet my parents. They want to talk to you."

I nervously walked over to her parents and was pulled into a hug by Sana's mom, "Thank you for bringing our babygirl back to us."

I froze before I hugged her back, "Of course. I had help from Marshmallow too," pointing towards my pet.

Her parents smiled and nodded towards Marshmallow.

"Want to stay and play with me?" Sana asked hopefully.

I let out a bright smile, "Yeah!"

The rest of the day we played tag with hide and seek, making sure not to lose sight of Sana's parents.

I found out that Sana and I were the same age, 9. Also, that she was transferring to my elementary school.

Flashback End-

I smiled as I remembered everything. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me as she slept. I let out a satisfied sigh and drifted off to sleep.
