Y/n POV

I am concerned. Ever since the abilities test Sana has been holding back her affectionate side towards me.

I tried to remember if I did anything to upset her but came up with nothing. It was currently 0 period and Mr. TOP was giving us a lecture about The Queen again.

Sana was sitting close to me but she didn't lean on me like she used to or even hold my hand. Not that I miss her being affectionate or anything.

"Ms. L/n, what was I just explaining?" Mr. TOP questioned as he noticed I wasn't paying attention.

I didn't even bother to respond as I stared blankly at him. Sana was looking at me in confusion as I had a staring contest with our teacher.

Mr. TOP let out a sigh, "Pay attention if you wish to pass my class."

I felt a bit bad that I was giving him a hard time and apologized, "I'm sorry sir. I'll pay attention."

He nodded his head and continued, I gave him my full attention.

"As I was saying, Seth Luong was frustrated he couldn't find Queen Sapphire's daughter. He decided to make a deal with the Demon King. In the deal, the Demon King gave Seth a horde of demons and in return the throne of the daughter would be passed to him. Seth agreed.
He commanded his horde to find the daughter. To this very day, the daughter still remains unfound."

I was confused and raised my hand, "Yes Ms. L/n?"

"I don't understand. You told us earlier that Seth just wanted to get rid of the daughter because he was afraid of the downfall of humans. Why would he make a deal with the Demon King?
If the daughter was ever found then the Demon King would take over. It'll be the fall of humans if that ever happens." I was curious what was going on in Seth's head when he made the deal.

Mr. TOP smiled over at me, "In all my years of teaching someone finally asks me that question. You see, Seth was actually a good friend of the Queen at first. But a falling out between them happened. Seth wanted revenge on the Queen for it.
And the only way to make the Queen truly suffer was to go after her daughter. Then, Seth came up with lies to get humans to turn against the Queen and her daughter."

I quickly asked him a question when he finished, "What was the falling out that happened? It must've been bad if Seth went through those lengths to get revenge."

Mr. TOP chuckled, "You are a very curious person. I will explain all of that on Monday, class is almost over."

I pouted, "But I'm curious now."

Mr. TOP raised an eyebrow and looked as if he was contemplating something, "If you truly wish to know now, go to the library. Find a book called 'Sapphire: The Lonely Girl' "

The bell rang.

"Okay, thank you Mr. TOP" I said as I rushed out of class to go to the library. I was nearing the library when I felt a hand grab my wrist.

"We're going to be late to first period," Sana said as she had a firm grip on my wrist. It was tight enough to restrict me from moving but not tight enough to hurt me.

"B-But the book. It'll be fast," I replied with sad eyes.

Sana looked over at me a sighed, "You can go ahead. I'm going to first period."

She let go of my wrist and started walking away from me. I looked over at her in shock and sadness as she left me alone.

What did I do to you Sana? You never leave me alone.

All throughout our friendship, we always stayed with each other. Every crazy or stupid shenanigan we decided to do- we did together.

I looked down at my feet and frowned. I looked back up where Sana walked to and turned around, heading into the library.

As I walked in I heard the bell for first period ring. Great I'm late for first period.

I went up to the desk and asked the librarian for the book Mr. TOP told me to get.

The Librarian looked over at me in shock, "I thought no one was supposed to know about that book."

I confusedly stared at her, "What do you mean?"

She just gave me a long stare before she stood up and walked away from me.

Was I supposed to follow her or?

She came back with a book, it looked incredibly fancy. The cover was seemingly made of gold. The title page was written in bold, blue cursive letters. A lighter blue gem as the picture- a Sapphire.

The librarian lightly shook as she handed me the book, "I was told by the previous librarian that the first person who asks for this book will be responsible for it. It is now your responsibility. This book carries many secrets of the past. Do not let anyone and I mean anyone look at this book except for you. Stow it away in a place so no wondering eyes will be able to see it."

It felt like a burden was dumped on my shoulders. Did Mr. TOP know this would happen? Was it because he trusted me to protect this book?

The librarian told me to put the book in my backpack and to go home straight away. I was going to argue with her about my classes but she said she'll tell the teachers to dismiss me.

She then pushed me out of the library with the parting words, "Protect this book with your life."

I was wondering how Sana would react if I didn't show up to any of our shared classes or lunch. I brushed it off, believing since Sana didn't seem to care for me this morning that she wouldn't care.

I rushed home in my car and thought of a place to hide the fancy book. In the vent? No. It might ruin the book.

I parked my car and went inside my house.

My parents are in New York because of their jobs. I told them I didn't want to move so they allowed me to stay here alone. They call me everyday and occasionally send my aunt to check up on me.

We also share controls of the cameras set up around the house, just in case something happens.

Shoot I forgot about the cameras.

There's only four places without cameras: the two bathrooms, my room, and my parent's room.

Hiding the book in my room or my parent's room would be too obvious if someone knew I had the book.

The bathroom it is.

I walked into the upstairs bathroom and closed the door. It was big but everything was open. Where can I hide it?

I paced around in the bathroom. I heard a slight squeak of the floorboard and came up with an idea.

.......

Perfect.

I hid the book underneath the squeaky floorboard. How? You ask.

I just opened up the floorboard and placed it in there. It looked a bit uneven when I placed the floorboard back so I just put a rug on top of it.

No one will ever look in the bathroom!

I was mentally cheering in my mind as I triumphantly walked out of the bathroom. It didn't last long as I heard my phone ding and looked at my text message.

"Care to explain why I see you in the living room when you're supposed to be at school?- Mom" I gulped in fear.

This Friday just keeps getting better and better. I looked up at the secret camera that was placed on Jesus's Cross and sheepishly waved at it.

I am so dead when they visit me tomorrow.
