Chapter 19: Marshmallow

Y/n POV

"I got it!" Tzuyu yelled before vanishing into thin air. The ship swerved away from the rocks, just barely avoiding them. All of us sighed in relief.

Tzuyu reappeared again, "We really should watch where we're going."

"Well someone was supposed to be doing that already," I cocked my eyebrow at Mr. TOP.

"What? You ladies distracted me!" Mr. TOP argued.

"Excuses, excuses." I shook my head in disappointment playfully.

All of us laughed as Mr. TOP crossed his arms and stomped his feet like a child as he got scolded.

"Alright ladies. We're just above the castle," Mr. TOP stated as he came up from the Headquarters.

"Cool. Are we going there right now?" I asked and stood up from my seat.

"Not yet. It's almost dark out and I would hate to be looking for the artifact when it's pitch black." Mr. TOP explained.

"We have flashlights," Jihyo raised her flashlight.

"Do you really want to go into the castle when it's dark?" Mr. TOP cocked his eyebrow.

"...Not really." Momo muttered.

"Yeah, I agree. I'd rather go when it's daylight out." Dahyun added.

"Okay. Then we go early in the morning tomorrow," Mr. TOP confirmed.

"Aww. I wanted to go during night, you get more of the experience that way." Chaeyoung frowned in disappointment.

"What experience? We wouldn't see anything," Nayeon crossed her arms.

"The frightening experience," Chaeyoung smirked, "Where you wonder if it's the draft of cold air you're feeling or someone breathing into your ear."

"Cut that out," Jeongyeon quickly stated, "You're scaring the children."

"We're all children," Chaeyoung sighed.

"Still. It isn't good to try and scare us like this, we don't know what we'll find in that castle." Jeongyeon crossed her arms.

"You're right. Sorry," Chaeyoung apologized to everyone.

"I suggest everyone get some sleep, big day tomorrow." Mr. TOP rubbed his hands.

He seemed excited to enter the castle but there was a certain look in his eyes. He gave out a fake smile before returning back into the captain's headquarters. I frowned as I watched him leave.

Of course, he's upset to be back here again. The last time he was, the love of his life disappeared. Also, he gave away his child because he was terrified. I hope he finds happiness again.

I absentmindedly petted Marshmallow as I stared at Mr. TOP's retreating figure. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned my head.

"I have a question about Marshmallow," Mina said.

"Shoot," I smiled.

"How did you meet?" Mina questioned.

I froze.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Mina immediately apologized after she saw my reaction.

"No, no. It's okay. I'll tell you," I softly smiled.

"Yay!" Mina clapped her hands.

It caught everyone else's attention.

"What happened?" Tzuyu asked.
