WuAi didn't know why, but the closer she got to the city, the more annoyed she was. First it was the assistant's driving, second it was the buildings, third it was the traffic jams, fourth it was the system, fifth it was the sky.
She sat in the shotgun, and her assistant drove the car. The car was one of those cars where if you drove over the line, it'll make a quiet beeping nose. And the assistant consistently kept going over those lines. "Can't you drive properly? Stop driving over the lines!"
"I'm trying..." but her questions only made him more nervous and drive over the lines more often.
"Can't you turn off the noise? Oh my g--Look! The lines are now under the car!" In the end, at a stop light, she demanded to take over.
Then as she was driving into the city, tall sky scrapers came into view. "These fuckers, using their money to build these tall buildings instead of helping poor people out. What's the use of sitting--"
System55566688833: Host, you're getting too influenced by the original host. Please calm down.
WuAi quieted down, only to erupt when they got stuck in traffic jam. She started mumbling and grumbling under her breath so much that the assistant was starting to get scared. Please get to the forensics building soon! Let me out!
Then WuAi started grumbling about the system. It should be transporting her places with a snap, but no, she had to go the humane way of using cars and waiting behind congested lines of traffic. Once WuAi looked up at the clear sky, it seemed like her grumbling would never end. It was even louder than the engine noises. She hated the blue skies, she hated that there wasn't a single cloud in sight, she hated that she had to come into the city when the sun was out. She was hating everything.
Finally, with WuAi's speeding they arrived at the forensic building. She finally calmed down once she entered. Even she thought it was weird that she was so affected by the original host's thoughts.
System55566688833: The forensics building is where the original host died in. The original host was probably fighting to not enter, but since it's already here, what can it do now.
WuAi could only sigh. How did she die?
System55566688833: You'll experience it soon enough.
I'd like to know how I'd die at least.
System55566688833: You bled out.
This did answer her question, but it wasn't what she wanted to know. She finally entered the female leads office. On the door there was a plaque for her name: ShanCheng. This name really fit the female lead. So honest it set WuAi's eyes aflame.
She entered the office and it was as if she was visiting the principals office all over again. ShanCheng sat behind her table with her hands fisted in front of her face. ShanCheng's glasses glinted so WuAi couldn't look at her eyes.
"ShanCheng." WuAi curtly nodded at her.
"Detective WuAi." ShanCheng immediately got up to show her to the lab. The last male body laid on the autopsy table. He was already cleaned up from the autopsy. "There was no use of drugs in his body that would stop the blood from flowing out--"
While the female lead was talking, WuAi could hear a clear voice of the system.
System55566688833: Side Mission. Turn into a vampire +100,000 points.
WuAi started coughing in surprise. How am I supposed to turn into a vampire? This guy is dead.
System55566688833: It's only a side mission, you don't have to do it. Anyway, even if you die, the story is still going to continue.
You mean I could have died at any point, and that it wouldn't have affected the mission?
System55566688833: It's an easy level, that's why.
Why didn't you say so earlier?
"--And there you have it." WuAi had completely not been following what ShanCheng had been saying. WuAi could only grit her teeth, apologize and ask her to repeat what she had said again. ShanCheng shrugged and smirked, "This is why you should continue going to school. Couldn't even understand a couple of words?" This female lead had completely misunderstood WuAi's face, but still attacked her at her soft spot.
Just because this detective went to a different academy, doesn't mean you're smarter! You nut! You nerd! You despicable, useless, low eq wench! How about I ask you some things in detective lingo and see if you can compare!
"I'll just show you instead of explaining with words," said ShanCheng. Then she was brought over to a table nearby with a microscope, test tubes and whatever you would find in a lab. They were there. "This blood cell is of a normal blood cell clotting at the wound." ShanCheng gestures for WuAi to look into the microscope. "As you can see, the cells are bunching together interlaced with this white spider like web." Then ShanCheng switched the picture and adjusted the blurriness, "this one is blood clotting with the use of T drug. There's more yellow lines that now stretch from each blood cell to keep them bunched up. This next one is the blood we were able to get out of the man. These blood cells had completely broken apart and formed into one big cell. As you can see there are little ridges in this cell where they just smashed together to make one big cell."
"It's just like the previous 4 victims." As WuAi stood up from the microscope her hand touched something, and with the flick of her wrist, it crashed onto the floor, "fuck, sorry," and WuAi immediately went to go clean it up.
As ShanCheng went to go grab a towel, and WuAi continued to grab the large pieces of glass. She finished up real quick and looked for the trash can. As her eyes quickly surveyed the area, she noticed a certain mans eyes and mouth were wide open on the autopsy table. She could see the fangs clearly from her position. She quickly dropped the glasses into the trash can and walked over. Perhaps she could still turn into a vampire this way. Her hand started to reach out to touch those fangs and then she got hit by something on the back of her head and she felt some blood run down her face.
Ah, so this is how I'm going to die. And then she collapsed on top of the man with the gaping hole on his chest.
