WuAi looked down towards the male lead. His eyes glittered upon meeting her eyes. She watched as his handsome face spaz, not knowing how to ask his question.
"What is it?" She implored him.
She even walked down until they were almost at the same eye level. Now she was only 3 steps away and he could smell her hair shampoo. It smelled of flowers. Then he started to feel self conscious. He tried to subtly smell himself by coughing into his shirt. Good. He didn't smell bad.
"Can I stay with you instead? I'll do all the chores, I'll--"
"As you can see, I have servants to do that. Everything that needs to be done, already has someone on it."
"I'll do anything! Anything you want me to do." He wanted to give back to his savior, and not just take their money.
WuAi was surprised, but still looked composed on the outside. He didn't seem to be too happy while sitting at the dining table earlier. She laughed and then shook her head, "I don't have a need for people who can't be helpful to me," and she quickly turned back around to go to her office. At the door to the office, she looked at him one last time. His head had drooped down and the bangs covered his eyes.
She knew that he meant well, but he wasn't in her plans, as he had only appeared in the original storyline after her original host had died. Although she knew he was able to get into the 1st Legion, but soon after he was quickly captured by the female lead and he didn't do any work afterwards. She shook her head again and then entered the office.
Inside, her father sat at the couches in his pjs, "Dad."
"You've arrived?"
He was hunched over the chess pieces, trying to solve challenge #9784.
"Yeah," she sat across from him. His hair was no longer silver, but white now. She looked at the chess pieces. The goal was to get checkmate in 2 moves. She watched his furrowed brows as his eyes darted around the board.
She couldn't wait for him any longer and ended the move for him. Checkmate.
Her father sighed and looked at her, she knew it was going to be the same spiel and so they said the same words: "It's such a waste you're going into the military instead of the secret guards." He sighed again.
"My brother is also just as good. Just trust him."
"Yes, he is good, but he is not cautious enough. He does his things, but he doesn't check his surroundings. This is a bad habit. This is fine if he was alone, it would hurt only him. But this is team work, we can not just lose people due to his oversight."
WuAi grinned, she'd been hearing the same thing for the past 4 years now, ever since she took over the secret guard. "Don't worry, he'll learn by next year." She was going to pass it on to him as his graduation gift. After all, if the citizens knew it was a Beta that headed the secret guards... all trouble would arise.
Her father had moved onto the next chess challenge, "I hope so." He glanced at her, "Train him well, or else I'll send him to the Legion instead."
She laughed at his little threat, "So I got into the Legion? Which one?"
"The first one of course. Where else would you go to? If you didn't get into their best ones, I would question their brain." He checkmated with one move, "Come to the family house tomorrow for us to celebrate."
"Give me a week. I need to settle them down."
He nodded his head, just as he was about to verbally agree, the bookshelves moved to the side. This bookshelf had a hidden passage that was connected to her family home that was right next door.
"Absolutely not." WuAi's mother walked out from behind the section of books. She was also in her pjs. "You don't have to be with them everyday, they aren't babies anymore."
"Mom," WuAi could only helplessly say, "It's to stabilize them. Make them feel safe and to ensure them that I am trustworthy. We can always hold it another day, it's not like its my birthday." WuAi paused. Wait a second.
System55566688833: That's correct, tomorrow is your birthday.
WuAi smacked her head against her head.
"Look at you!" Her mom said a little angrily, "You did forget your own birthday. And look at you," she pointed to her husband, "you were about to let her go! Like father like daughter!" WuAi smiled back feebly.
"It's work..." He feebly tried to argue back.
"HELLO! Did you miss me?" The door to her office was slammed wide open and WuAi's brother came in.
Alphas....
And what is this? Was there a family gathering I wasn't in on?"I heard mom and dad were here, so I just drove here straight away."
WuAi could only sigh, she rang for some fruits to be brought up to the office. She had a premonition on what was going to happen next. After they talked for a bit longer, the parents said they'd go back in her brother's car.
As she walked them out to the door, she heard a loud, "Happy Birthday WuAi!" coming from downstairs and she peaked over the railing.
She could only helplessly smile as she saw all the omegas she saved, her servants, and her men stand around in the living room, surrounding a huge cake. 15 Omegas, all her 25 servants and 30 of her closest men stood with smiles facing her. As she walked down to the cake, they sang her happy birthday.
She was turning 22, so 22 candles were placed on the cake. She looked at the candles that were placed away from each other evenly. Usually, in order for a wish to work, the candles were placed close to each other and had to be blown out within 1 breath. She glared at the perpetrator who stood behind their parents. She gave him the middle finger in her mind. At the end of the song, she closed her eyes and made a wish.
Then she looked to the people surrounding the cake, "I hope your wishes will also come true. Let's blow out the candle together."
WuAi's men smirked, and the servants coughed into their shoulders. Only the Omegas looked towards her with worshipping eyes. WuAi glared once more at her brother who stuck his tongue out at her. Then returned to blow out the candles all together.
They divided the chocolate cream cake and afterwards, WuAi directed the Omegas to sleep and whacked each of her men real quickly on their backs. How dare they keep this from her. She also wagged her fingers at the servants. Who is the owner here, her or her parents. They too also kept this a secret from her. The servants only smiled in response, their owner was just too cute.
WuAi soon sent off her parents and brother and the mansion was once again quiet. It had been a long day. WuAi badly needed her sleep.
After this, the Omegas relaxed a lot more with WuAi. They also realized that she was human, and that the people in the house were pretty good.
