Aubrey's P.O.V.
Jake just left and went to the mall with Aiden. I was kinda bummed I couldn't go with him but then I realized I could probably work on getting him something for the holiday coming up.
It's February and Valentine's Day is coming up. I wanted to get him something really good and also heartfelt but I didn't exactly know what. I then realized that he lived in Canada for awhile until the whole thing with his parents came about.
I then called his mom who happen to give me her number at the hospital when Ara got her transplant.
"Hello, Taylor McCarthy speaking." She said.
"Hi, It's Aubrey." I said.
"Oh, hi, sweetie." She said cheerfully.
"Um....I was wondering. Do you by chance know the numbers to Jake's friends in Canada. I want to surprise him for Valentine's Day with his friends. Maybe see if I can convince their parents to let them stay here in L.A. Or maybe even just visit for a couple of weeks." I said and after a little while I started to ramble on.
"Oh my, that would be amazing. Jake would really love that especially since I know he misses them like crazy." She said.
"Oh great. Okay, so I just need there numbers so I can speak to them. Is there any by chance that you have them?" I asked hopefully.
"Lucky for you actually, I do. Since they always spend every waking moment together, I gave them my number just in case they need to reach me or Jake didn't pick up his phone when I called so I called one of his buddies." She said. Huh, interesting.
"Okay, his friend Kyle Denvers number is +1 (226)-348-5907, his other friend Logan Pierson number is +1 (519)-443-3296 and the final friend in the group is Dylan Matthews and his number is +1 (548)-626-4513." She said. I wrote them down on a page in my notebook for school. However, I made sure to use the last page in the notebook.
"Okay, thank you so much. I really appreciate it." I said. She said 'no problem' and then we both said bye and hung up. I then called the first person. This Kyle kid.
It rang before a deep but not too deep of a voice answered. "Hello."
"Hi, um......Okay, so my name is Aubrey Bloom. I'm your friend Jake Ashford's girlfriend. Anyways, I wanted to surprise him with you and his other friends from Canada for Valentine's Day. Are you down?" I said.
"Wow, okay. A lot to take in. You said your Jake's girlfriend." He said.
"Yea, he didn't tell you." I asked a little suspicious.
"Only every single day of my life. I just wanted to hear it from you again. Those words are like joy to my ears. It's kind of like telling a little kid that he is going pro for the NHL." He said. I released a breathe I didn't know I was holding.
"Oh okay. Awesome. Will you come to L.A.?" I asked once again.
"Hell yea. I actually wanted to for awhile now but since he has moved there, you are all he talks about. So, I figured he would be spending every waking moment with you." He said.
"Awe, you could've still came. I would've loved to meet you and the others." I said.
"Well, just text me the details and I will be there." He said.
"Wait, are you paying for your flight or.....I could if you want." I said.
"No, no, no, no. Sweetie, that is really kind of you but I got it. Thank you, though." He said.
"Okay, I will text you the details right now and I hope to speak with you again so I can update you on anything or vice versa." I said. He said, 'same here', before we hung up. I texted him and then called his next friend.
