It's the first time that I see his room and I'm speechless. It's gorgeous and insanely big! There's a lot of wood with black accents. It looks very authentic with a modern touch.
"Wow!"
"Yeah, it's pretty awesome," he smiles. He jumps on top of the bed and motions me closer. I love him like this, playful with a cheeky grin.
"Hero, we still need to talk," I say with a small voice. "Sex isn't the answer to everything." His face drops immediately.
"Seriously?"
"If we don't we'll have this fight every day."
"Would that be so bad?" he has a naughty smile.
"Well, the makeup wouldn't be bad but the fight definitely is."
"I guess you're right," he sighs. "I know you haven't given me a reason to be jealous of Josh but I just am. I hate the way he looks at you."
"Josh knows I'm with you and he knows he doesn't stand a chance. As an assistant, I will have to work with him."
"I have to work with Melany." The stubborn sound of his voice makes me angry again.
"You know that is different!" I cross my arms over my chest. "Working and drinking are two different things!" I try hard not to yell.
"I'm not the type of guy who will text his girlfriend every second of every day. You need to trust me!"
"I know and I want to but you're making it very difficult." I know we're both angry again and we can't look at each other. He's driving me insane! I walk towards the window to create as much space between us as possible. I look at the lake. I can actually see the bench and the willow tree from here. Is Hero right to be jealous? Did I do something wrong? How would I react if the tables were turned? Also, am I overreacting? I know for a fact Hero would kill me if I had a drink with an ex. Suddenly, I feel two strong arms around me. He puts his chin on my shoulder and buries his nose in my hair.
"I hate it when we fight," he whines. "We didn't have a single fight over summer and now it's all we seem to do." He's right. Of course he is. I thought our relationship had become stronger and that we could handle the world but now I'm not so sure. Surely we should be able to handle situations like this without fighting all the time.
"I know," I sigh. "And I also know that you can't text me all the time to let me know what you're up to. I wouldn't want that anyway but you have to understand that I don't like it when you stand me up to have a drink with Melany."
"I do," he replies. "But Melany is my colleague and we need to spend time together off set as well." I want to reply but he holds his finger against my lips.
"Let me finish," he says. "On that note, I also understand that you and Josh will work together. I'm just... I don't know.. I wouldn't say insecure but I've never fully understood why someone like you would like someone like me. You're very sophisticated and I'm just some boy." Now I turn around.
"Of course you're not! Hero, why would you be insecure? You're a model, you're an actor, you're world famous and every girl on the planet loves you!"
"That might be true but I only care about one." This touches my heart and I feel tears welling up in my eyes. I can be such a girl sometimes!
"I know," I whisper.
"I was scared you might realize that I'm not good enough and that you might like Josh instead." I swallow the lump in my throat to reply but he continues.
"Listen, I'll ask Greg if you can have a job on set during our shoots. That way you can be around Mel and me and you'll see that nothing is going on. I'll also let you know if I'm going to be alone with her off set. In return, I would like it if you keep things with Josh strictly professional. No more private talks and moonlight walks." I look into his green eyes before I reply. I want to show him that I'm dead serious.
"I promise." And in that instant I really did. I didn't know what was about to happen in the next few months.
