Chapter 32

When we enter all heads turn and everyone stares at us. Well, they stare at me. I try to smile. I take a quick look around and notice to my relief that neither Hero nor Melany are here.

"Look, our favourite table by the window is free!" Isabella says.

We walk over and take an extra chair. Diego orders espressos for all of us.

"Thank you Diego, you're so thoughtful," Isabella winks at him and Diego smiles at her. Brody scowls. This could be very interesting and entertaining!

"So honey, how is the head?" Brody asks with a knowing smile.

"I've had better days," I admit.

Brody starts laughing. "I bet! You hit it hard last night!"

"Oh, well, a girl can have some fun!"

"Oh my god, we should have mimosas!" Brody says with an excited squeal.

"Oh god no," I groan.

"Have some fun sister!" Brody winks and orders some mimosas as soon as the girl brings our espressos.

By the time we have our third mimosa our table is very noisy and loud. We're having a lot of fun though. I can't decide if Diego is gay or straight. Josh and I are having fun guessing. We're texting each other the entire time. Josh got us all some eggs and pancakes and for the first time in weeks I actually enjoy eating. I don't feel so bad when I'm with my friends. Last night's nightmare is forgotten. For the first time in weeks I'm actually laughing out loud and I'm not pretending.

"Okay, don't turn around but Hero and Melany just walked in." Major buzz kill obviously. My smile fades immediately.

"Ugh, do they have to do everything together?" Isabella frowns.

"We did everything together," I say with a small voice. "See, there is no way they aren't dating."

"More mimosas!" Brody yells at the bar.

"Charlotte, you probably need to eat more if you want to drink another mimosa," Josh says. "Can I get you anything?"

"It's fine, I'll go get something myself."

"Well, I'm joining you. Alcohol makes me so hungry!"

"Oh gosh, me too!"

We walk to the buffet and I can't decide what to eat. I decide on some waffles, strawberries and bacon.

"Damn girl, that's a weird combination!"

I give him a slight push.

"I'm craving bacon because of the alcohol, back off!" I smile.

When we walk back to our table, my eyes meet Hero's. He looks very pissed. I turn my head and walk a little faster. I sit down next to Josh.

"I'm so happy we have a day off," Diego says. "These last few weeks were hell!"

"I agree," Brody says. "I don't want to do anything all day!"

Damn, I want to do something today. I need to keep my mind off Hero by keeping busy.

"Okay, I'm so full. I'll probably head back to my room and watch a film." Isabella rubs her belly and sighs.

"I'm leaving too. I promised my mom I'd Skype her," Brody says.

We make dinner plans and they both leave. I look at Diego and Josh.

"I need some company today boys. What about a game of Monopoly in the lounge? I swear I saw some games there."

"I actually need to study my lines," Josh says. He bites his lower lip.

"Oh come on Joshy! One game! I'll help you study this afternoon if you want!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I used to help Hero all the time and I really enjoyed it."

"Thanks!"

"One game," Diego says. "I promised my grandma I'd take her out shopping."

"Oh, that's so sweet!" I pat him on the shoulder.

When I leave the restaurant I can't help but look at Hero again. He's still scowling.
