Chapter 47

*C H A R L O T T E*

Being with Josh is so easy. I don't have to worry about a thing! There are no other girls, there are no secrets. But the best thing about being with Josh is that he doesn't pressure me. All we do is kiss and hold hands and he's okay with that. It feels good to be in love again, to be happy again. I haven't felt happy in ages. Today my happiness has a different cause though. Today is the day Jack and Lizzie arrive! I roll over and look at Josh, who's still sleeping. He looks too cute!

"Stop looking at me," he groans. He opens his beautiful eyes and his thick, dark lashes are so long it's not even fair.

"I like looking at you," I say.

"I like looking at you too." He smiles and gives me a kiss.

"I need to get ready, Jack and Lizzie will be arriving soon!"

I jump up and he pulls me back.

"Not without a proper kiss!" I stroke his jaw and lean in to give him a kiss. My heart flutters for a second.

"Much better!" he smiles.

I jump up again and gather my stuff to return to my room.

"See ya later!" I blow him a kiss and leave.

I'm a bit nervous to introduce him to Jack and Lizzie. Josh is great but they adore Hero. They were there last year and they've always supported us. It really sucks that they will have to split their time between us.

After my shower I go downstairs to the restaurant. It's almost empty, except for Hero. He's sitting alone at a table, drinking coffee. I walk over to another table and order one too. I start giggling. He refuses to look at me.

"This is ridiculous!" I giggle. "Two people alone at a different table in complete silence."

"Glad you find this amusing," he snaps. "I won't bother you any further, I've just finished my coffee."

"Hero.." I start. "Jack and Lizzie will be so sad if they see us fighting like this. Can't we just try to get along for them?"

"I really don't see the point in that." He gets up. "Okay, I'm off to get some rehearsing done. Tell Jack to text me when it's my turn to spend time with them."

Hero leaves and my good mood is over. In a few weeks the film is finished and we'll never see each other again. I sigh and drink my coffee. There is no time to feel sad, I need to make sure Jack and Lizzie have the best time ever! I look at the clock and head outside because they will be arriving soon.

I'm so excited to see them that I jump on top of Lizzie as soon as they come out of the taxi.

"Lizzie! Jack!"

"Hi Char," Jack smiles and I give them both a hug.

"God, I've missed you so much!"

"You saw us a few months ago," Jack points out.

"I know but I miss living together. I miss uni!"

"We miss you too!"

"Where is Hero? Is he on set?" Lizzie asks.

"Uhm, no. Hero and I... we're fighting. We can't be around each other so you'll see him later.

"What happened?"

"Come inside, I'll tell you over coffee."

I tell them everything that has happened the past few months. Lizzie has tears in her eyes.

"I can't believe it," she says.

"I couldn't either," I admit. "But I've seen the pregnancy test and Melany has regular appointments with her doctor so she definitely is pregnant."

"Are you absolutely sure it's Hero's baby?" Jack asks.

"She was in his room, almost naked and she's telling everyone he is the father. He lets her and they're together all the time..."

"Well, we were kind of hoping to speak to you two together. You think we can have dinner or lunch just the four of us?"

I bite my lip. This is such a bad idea. Hero hates me since I've been dating Josh.

"Come on, Charlotte, we really need to talk to both of you!"

"Okay, I'll ask Hero to have lunch tomorrow. But tonight we have dinner with Josh, he's my new boyfriend."

Lizzie and Jack exchange a look and I can tell they're not thrilled that Hero and I moved on so quickly.

"Oh, come on guys, I promise you'll like him!" I beg. I really want my friends to like Josh as much as I like him.

"Well, I've watched one of his films on the plane and he sure is hot," Lizzie says. "Of course we will have dinner with him."

After our coffee I take a walk with them around the lake before it's time to drop them off at Hero's room. They're right. This sucks.
