After I called Sabrina and explained the situation to her she came into Connor's apartment and this was probably the first time I saw her without Jake.
"Thank you so much for coming, I have no idea what to do with him."
"Is he breathing? I'm not leaving my fingerprints here if he's not."
"Of course he's breathing. I wouldn't call you if he wasn't."
"Then what's the problem?" I wasn't sure if she saw what I saw.
"Hello? What do you mean what's the problem? He's lying down on the floor unconscious."
"Yeah, so? Oh, Cel, you're too innocent to live. This used to be a daily occurrence for Connor. Don't worry, he'll be fine. His body is used to this."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Is there any more of that white powder left?"
"Are you serious right now?!"
"What? I was talking about baby powder. You should relax."
"I can't believe you two... Here!" I threw the powder off the table on the carpet. "I don't care what that costs! You could pay a lot higher price for that then you think!"
"If you seriously don't think he's not just gonna vacuum that out of the carpet and sniff it together with all the dust, you don't know him."
"Would he really do that?"
"He's a junky. There are no limits for what he could do."
"He used to be. And don't call him that word."
"Well judging by the condition he's in I wouldn't say a lot has changed." She looked back at him.
"Sabrina, I didn't call you here to judge him and make fun of him. He has a reason he feels bad. It's because of me."
"What? Don't tell me you broke up..."
"No, it's... I'm surprised you didn't hear about it already... Well, I have cancer."
"Shut up. No you don't."
"I'm afraid it's true."
"I don't believe you. You're lying."
"Why would I lie about something like that?"
"I don't know. Maybe it's a bet. Hey, is he even really unconscious? Get up, Connor! This is not gonna work!"
"This isn't a joke. Please, I called you here to help me. How do I make him conscious again?"
"Well that shouldn't be that hard." She took a glass of water from the table and spilled it onto Connor's face. He started blinking and making faces.
"Why did you do that?" I gasped.
"But it worked, didn't it?"
He wiped his face with his hand, maybe Sabrinas methods were unconventional but she knew how to deal with situations that he's in right now.
"What's going on? Am I dead yet? Where's Celestia?"
"She's right there." Sabrina looked at me and he moved his head to the other side.
"Oh, Celestia. I'm so glad to see you here. You look just the same. Even better, actually."
I kneeled down and held his face.
"You're not dead, dummy."
"I'm not?" He looked around. "Oh, well that explains why Sabrina is here too..." He sat up on the floor.
