Chapter 27: The test

ANNIKA'S POV

I was so nervous. I was sitting in the car with Zoe and I was sweating. I was rubbing my hands on my pants and shaking. Zoe kept glancing over at me.

"Dont worry Annika. If you are pregnant you should be happy and excited!" Zoe smiled. 

"Yeah....but it wasnt planned." I frowned. 

"I know....Im sure Joe will be very happy if you are. He always loved kids." I smiled and hoped that he checked on Grace. I never want her to sleep to long other wise she wont sleep at night. 

We arrived at the drug store. I walked in with Zoe and we headed right to the pregnancy tests. We grabbed 2 boxes that had 3 tests inside. I wanted to try a bunch of times to make sure Im either pregnant or not. After choosing the boxes we went to pay. 

"How are you ladies today?" An older lady at the check out asked. 

"We are doing great thank you." Zoe replied politely.

"Now....may I ask, whos expecting?" 

"I-I am." I said. 

"Is it your first?"

"No....I have one at home right now." 

"Oh well, congradulations if its positive." I nodded and grabbed the bag. I felt like puking right now. I ran outside and sure enough I puked in a trash can of course. Zoe rubbed my back and handed me a mint. I smiled and we got in the car. 

When we arrived at Zoe's, we went right to the bathroom. I grabbed the boxes and told Zoe to wait out in the hallway. I did what I had to do on all the sticks and opened the door. Zoe came in and we waited. When the test was completed we read them. All the tests were......positive. I started crying. Zoe hugged me. 

"Are you crying tears of joy or sadness?" She asked.

"Joy and nervousness." I cried. She rubbed my back more. We threw the tests in the garbage site down the street and Zoe drove me home. I was excited and nervous to tell Joe. Zoe said she wasnt going to stay because she had to meet Alfie and Marcus for lunch. I waved to Zoe as she left and I walked in. Grace was playing with her toys and Joe was watching TV and eating a snack of crackers. 

"Hey, how was Zoe?" Joe asked.

"She was great." I faked a smile.

"What did you girls do?" I had a lump in my throat now. 

"Ummm...we...." I was starting to cry. Joe picked up Grace and brought to the play room. 

"Whats up?" He was concerned. 

"I-Im pregnant." I started crying. He gave me a hug. I pulled away to look at him and he was smiling. 

"Really? Thats exciting!" He cheered jumping up and down. I started laughing. 

"Yeah.....I need to make an appointment with the doctor." 

"Ok! Do that now." I smiled and grabbed the phone.  I called my doctor that I had with Grace. Her name is Dr. Joy Williams. She is very nice and careful when working with her patients.

"Hello. This is Dr. Joy Williams at Union Hospital. How may I help you?" She answered.

"Hello Joy! This is Annika Sugg." I replied.

"Oh! Annika! How is Grace doing?" 

"Great. But I actually need to make an appointment. I took some pregnancy tests and I am pregnant again!" 

"Thats wonderful! How many tests did you take?" 

"6" 

"Wow! Alright. And they were all positive?" 

"Yes ma'ma."

"Ok! I have an opening for tomorrow at about 10 in the morning if thats ok with you."

"Perfect. See you then."

"Yes. See you. Bye." 

"Bye." I hung up and went back to Joe. I stopped before I went to the family room. Joe was sitting next to  Grace. He was talking to her. I waited and listened because he hadnt seen me yet.

"Guess what Gracie? Your mommy is going to have another baby! That means your going to be a big sister to a little brother or sister!" Joe smiled. I smiled along and watched Joe hug Grace and Grace was smiling. I took this moment to walk in.

"So, I have an appointment tomorrow at 10." I explained.

"Perfect! Do you want me to come with? I can have Zoe and Alfie watch Grace?" Joe asked. 

"Yeah....that would be good."

"Ok. I'll text Zoe right now." He took out his phone and started texting Zoe. I sat down and played with Grace a little more but the door bell rang. I got up to see who it was. It was Jack. Finn was probably out with friends. 

"Jack! How are you?" I asked enveloping him in a hug.

"Im doing great. Thought I would stop by. I need to talk to you." He replied stepping inside.  I followed him in. Grace looked up and went to Jack hugging his legs. 

"Uncle Jack!" Grace cheered. 

"Hey Gracie. I need to put you in the toy room for a little so mommy and daddy can talk to Uncle Jack for a little." I told her. She nodded and I brought her to the toy room. I went back to the family room and sat on the couch next to Joe. Jack sat across from us. 

"So, Annika and Joe. As you know Ella and I are married but we havent been able to see each other lately. We were planning on eventually moving together and we are!" Jack stated.

"Thats great!" I clapped.

"Yes, but, I am moving to Australia. She cant leave due to her job situation."

"But you have a job to, here, in England."

"My job can be made anywhere. Making Youtube videos and short films doesnt need to be in the UK and if I want to be with Ella I need to move."

"Yeah...ok. I actually have news to tell you."

"Whats that?"

"Im pregnant....again."

"Really?" 

"Yes."

"How long?"

"I found out today but Im not sure exactly how long. I have to go to the doctors tomorrow."

"Im so excited for you!" He hugged me. I love my brother but I cant believe hes moving to Australia!
