Chapter 13: Bad News

JOES POV

I walked into my house to see if Annika was done showering yet. I saw the bathroom door open and the guest bedroom door shut so Im guessing that she was done. I went into the bathroom and undressed. The shower was still wet inside from when Annika showered. I turned on the water and went in. 

When I was finished I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my waist. As I was walking to my room I heard Annika talking to someone on the phone. She sounded really mad. I rushed to my room and put on my boxers and pants not caring about a shirt at this point. Something was wrong. 

I knocked on the guest room door.

"Annika? Can I come in?" I said. There was no reply. She was still talking to someone on the phone. I opened the door and saw Annika on the bed. Her hair still wet and she was wearing white skinny jeans and a long sleeve tee shirt. Her fresh makeup was now running down her face. I just looked at her. I sat down next to her.

"I have to go...." Annika said. She set her phone down and rubbed the makeup off her face. 

"Hey..." She said. 

"Are you ok? Whats going on?" I was really worried.

"I...Ummm..." She couldnt even speak. She just started crying all over again. 

"Its ok....I can listen." 

"I...need to go home. Now." 

"Why? Is everything alright? Please tell me." 

"I....I....Im moving again" She cried. It felt like I had just been hit by a bus. This cant be real!

"Why!?" I asked.

"My dads job got transferred to Brighton. That means I have to move with them......" 

"No....we cant let this happen. You can live with Zoe and Alfie or Me and Caspar! I cant loose you again." 

"I know....." 

"You stay here. I can call Zoe to come over. I need to go somewhere but I will be right back." 

"I need to go home, Joe." 

"No...stay right here." I ran out of the room and went outside. I called Annika's parents.

"Joe! Hello!" Maria, Annika's mom answered.

"Hey Maria....you cant take my girlfriend away from me." I said.

"What? What do you mean?" 

"Annika told me you are moving to Brighton."

"Oh....yes....we are. But we have to." 

"No! She just settled here in Bath and I cant lose her again. I really love her." 

'I know.... But we need to move if my husband wants to keep his job. Im so sorry Joe."

"She can live with me and my room mate. We have space."

"Im sorry Joe. I have to go now. Do you mind sending Annika home? She needs to pack. Goodbye." She hung up. I tossed my phone in the grass. I had to think of something. Then it hit me. Jack and Finn.

"Finn!" I said when I heard and answer.

"Joe? 'Ello mate!" Finn replied.

"Hey.....so.......you guys cant move."

"Joe....Believe me....I dont want to either but my dad needs to keep his job."

"I know that! But I really want Annika to stay with me but your mother wont allow."

"I know......Bu----" He was inturupted by a voice in the background that I was guessing was Maria.

"Joe....I have to go....I need to pack now.....But listen...I can help you. I need you to keep Annika with you. Dont bring her home. If you want her to stay then dont bring her home. I can cover for you alright?"

"K....thanks mate!" I hung up and ran inside.

"Joe?" I heard Zoe. "What is going on?" Zoe sounded dissapointed or confused. I couldnt tell.

"She just told me she has to move again. I cant go through losing her a second time!" I said.

"I know Joe."

"I just called Finn and he said what ever we do dont bring her home and he will cover for us. That way she will be able to live with us."

"Now.....Is that really the right thing to do?"

"If I want to keep her then yeah..."

"Ok....what ever you say." She leaned against the doorframe and I walked into the guest room. Annika was sitting there and she was calmer now.

"Hey babe......" I said. I sat down and rubbed her back. 

"Hey...." She sniffled.

'You dont have to move." 

"What do you mean?"

"I talked to your mom who said you have to go but I talked to Finn and he said that if I keep you with me he can talk to your parents and you will be able to live with Caspar and I and maybe eventually me and you can get our own place!"

"Thats amazing Joe! I love you so much!" She hugged me and we just stayed like that for sometime just hugging. 

"Can we go back to yours and Caspars?" She said. 

"Of course! Lets go!" We got up and told Zoe where we were going then we left. 

When we got back to my place with Caspar we ran inside and we went to find Caspar. We found him thats for sure. He was lip locked with his girlfriend Gaby.

"Caspar!" I yelled. He stopped quickly and looked at us.

"Oh! Hey Joe! Hey Annika! This Gaby.....my girlfriend." He smiled even though he was blushing from embarassment.

"Nice to meet you." Annika said. 

"Nice to meet you too." Gaby stated.

"So...Caspar, Annika is going to be living with us!" I cheered

"Really? Why?" Caspar asked.

"Wow.....caspar thats nice." Annika Joked.

"Because her family has to move again but she really doesnt want to so I offered and I mean we have the loft upstairs we can put a bed there and we have a room!"

"Alright whatever you say....."

"You mind if Annika and I play some Fifa......"

"Well, we were actually here first....."

"I want to play Fifa! Go to your room or something! You can watch tv, listen to music, or continue kissing!!!" 

"Good idea Joe! Love you mate!" Caspar hugged me and I pushed him away.

"Go on then!" We are really going to have to get used to another person living in this house.
