Chapter 21: Visitors

JOES POV

Annika got off the phone with someone and looked a little relieved and a little nervous.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"My mom." She said blankly.

"Is that a good thing?"

"I think so. She said a very nice applogy she's coming over tomorrow."

"Wow! Thats wonderful!"

"Yeah.....but I need to fix the apartment up and make sure that everything is ready---" I stopped her. I thought she was about ready to have a panic attack. 

"Shhhhhhhh............." I said. She relaxed a little and leaned into my chest and hugged me.

"Im just so stressed right now Joe." She managed to say.

"I know you are. Be strong and happy that your mom is going to be here tomorrow! She actually feels bad for the way she has been treating you."

"I guess your right. Now we should probably get started on cleaning up the place a bit. We also need to run to the store and get groceries."

"Right. Lets get going then!" We got to work and we worked our arses off!

We finished everything in about 5 hours. Thats when the apartment looked complete. We were now able to have a quick dinner and get to bed before Annika's family comes tomorrow. 

We had a lovely dinner of Chicken and potatoes before heading to bed. I took a shower as well as Annika. Then we hopped into bed and as soon as our heads hit the pillow we were both out cold.

The next morning I noticed Annika was not beside me. I sat up looking around the room and she wasnt in there. But I then heard something and knew it was Annika. I got off of bed and rubbed my eyes. It was 11:30! I got changed quickly and did my hair in the normal messy look but I pushed off my face this time. I ran downstairs to see Annika fully dressed and looking beautiful as ever. 

"Why didnt you wake me?" I said.

"You looked so peacefully. I was going to wake you soon. My family isnt arriving until 12."

"Thats now in 15 minutes."

"Yeah....oh well." We both started laughing and sat on the couch talking. Next thing we know the door bell rang. Annika's face got pale and she looked at me. I nodded and she smiled. We both stood up and walked to the door together.

"Hi!" I Annika greeted hugging everyone. I was the second greeter. I gave Jack and Finn a bro hug if you will. I gave Annika's mom a hug and shook Annika's dads hand.They all came in and looked around.

"This is a lovely place you have!" Annikas mom gushed.

"Thank you." Annika shyly replied. We all sat in the family room and had some tea.

"Do you mind if Joe and I have a conversation downstairs for a bit?" Annika's dad asked.

"Dad----" Annika warned.

"Dont worry. I just want to get to know the guy thats marrying my daughter."

"Be nice Chad." Annikas mom said.  He winked and we walked downstairs.

"So.....this is a very nice place." Chad complimented.

"Thanks. I thought so as well." I agreed.

"Uh......You do realize I feel really bad how I betrayed my own daughter pretty much." 

"I believe you do. But I just want to understand why?"

"Why? Well, I felt that she didnt like her family. She liked you than she liked us. Jack and Finn as you know are adults now, as well as Annika. None of them had moved out yet and when my youngest decided to leave us it was heart breaking."

"I understand. When I first left my parents they were very worried for me because I was also the youngest and my sister had not moved out yet but I had started Youtube and met others so I had roommates."

"So you never actually lived alone?"

"No. I actually lived with my roommate Caspar until Annika moved in and we both moved out."

"So you basically left this Caspar person?"

"Of course not! We wanted him to have his space and we wanted ours. We did feel really bad for leaving Caspar. He was very upset but we assured him we would see him all the time."

"Well, I feel like you are a very good influence for Annika. Your someone she needs."

"Thank you so much."

"Its no problem. Just keep behaving like you are and we will get along well." I smiled at him and we both walked up the stairs. As I got to the top Annika looked at me. She looked nervous. I smiled to make sure she knew I was good. She smiled back we sat down and continued having our tea. 

Before I knew it we were hugging everybody and saying goodbye. It was nice to have conversations with Annika's family. I feel like they really do feel bad for what they have done. 

"Hey Jack, Finn. Maybe we can film a collab sometime soon?" I asked.

"Of course!" They both said at the same time.

"You got my number so call or text whenever."

"Will do mate." Finn said giving me a playful slap on the shoulder. I smiled at everyone as they all left to their car. When Annika shut the door I thought for sure when she turned around her beautiful smile would disappear. But when she looked at me she continued smiling and flug herself at me. I picked her up and continued hugging her. 

"This was amazing." She said still hanging on to me. 

"Im glad you enjoyed it." I replied looking at her. I gave her a short yet passionate kiss and set her down. Her smile not even fading yet. I loved to see her happy. When she is all upset and depressed it makes me feel the same and I hate it so much. 

"Well, we better clean up! Im exhausted." Annika stated still smiling. 

"Lets do this!" I clapped my hands together and we started cleaning. Even though Annika wasnt smiling anymore since she was concentrating, I could still tell how happy she was with every step she took. Im so glad this all went so well.
