Frisk didn't even realize she had fallen asleep. It felt like she had merely closd her eyes for one second. When she woke up, the stars were twinkling in the sky and darkness caved in on her. When Frisk was little, she had always had a fear of being alone during the night. That fear still stuck with her. It had gotten better knowing that she lived in a village of monsters, not child-stealing humans. Frisk turned over slowly, careful not to make a sound in the deserted field. She thought over what happened. God dammit, it was my fault for yelling at him. Now he will surely hate me! She lightly bumped her face against her forehead.
She sat up and smiled at the sight of the sunflowers. The sweet aroma that raised from the field comforted her. She slowly stood, looking around frantically. It almost felt as if someone was watching her........ I'm just being paranoid. I need to calm down. She started walking through the field, not exactly knowing where she was trying to go. Dang it! Which way is the town, again? She brought out her small phone in one swift movement and typed in her pass code. Huh, no internet connection. She had clearly remembered being able to get service the last time she took a stroll in the forest. How strange.
Maybe I'm just dreaming. She looked at her frail arm before pinching it harshly. Ouch! Yup, defiantly not dreaming. She sighed, and started walking in a random direction, hoping it was the right way. Well, only if the stupid trees weren't blocking the mountains! Maybe I can get to someplace where I'm able to see the mountains, then I'll be able to see where I need to go. So Frisk walking on, jumping at every slight sound in the gloomy forest. In the daytime the forest was beautiful and lively, with birds chirping everywhere. How could it be so different at night? Finally, Frisk made it to a clearing, but it was too dark to see the mountains anyway. Maybe I could just go back to sleep, or wait here till morning. Then I can see better and get home.
Frisk tried to think of things to say to Sans when she got back. She spoke aloud, to the trees and bushes surrounding her. "Oh! Hey! Just wanted to say that I'm sorry about what happened." No, that's stupid. "Listen, let's just talk about things. I have this girl that's dead who speaks to me in my mind and she wants to kill everyone for some reason. You gotta hate it when that happens, right?" No. Frisk frowned, staring at the crumpled leaves on the floor. Luckily, she had found a log to sit on for the time being. "This is stupid..." She mumbled, as she tried to imagine Sans again, and what he would say to the sentences Frisk had come up with. Frisk started to walk, not noticing it was almost day light. Once the birds began to chirp, Frisk abruptly stopped. She could see the mountains clearly now. Frisk grinned from ear to ear as she began running north, back to town. Gosh, how she was looking forward to a filling breakfast.
