Grillbys was a place Frisk had been to a million times. Sometimes she would even go there herself without the influence of Sans. Frisk walked into the bar and was greeted by a great majority of the monsters. The monsters that seemed as if they lived at the small bar. Sans didn't flinch or move as the monsters called out her name, in fact he seemed as if he didn't even notice. She sat down next to the skeleton as Grillby walked out to take Frisk's order. Grillby seemed like an uncle to Frisk, which was nice because she had never had a biological uncle. Or maybe she did, but she never got to meet him. Grillby would always tease her, and tell her all the juicy news about the town. As he saw Frisk a grin enveloped his face and he quickened his pace to the counter, glancing at Sans for a short moment.
He walked up and told Frisk politely, "What can I get for you today, ma'am?" The nickname was a pointless inside joke. One time Frisk had accidentally called Asgore ma'am when she had bumped into him in the cramped bar. Frisk shook away the thought and answered blankly, "Just a water, please." Grillby nodded slowly looking to Sans and back to Frisk as if to indicate he needed help. Frisk shook her head, trying not to make it obvious to Sans that they were 'talking' about him. Once Grillby left, Frisk decided to take an attempt to lighten the mood.
First, she told a few puns. That didn't work. Then, her water arrived as she continued rambling on about Papyrus and stuff she thought Sans would be interested in. As Frisk took a moment to sip her water, Sans stated in a cold voice, "You lunatic." Frisk shot up, surprised. In the process of looking up, she was somehow able to knock her water over. She wasn't focused on that though, she was still puzzled by Sans' statement.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't quiet catch that." She stammered nervously hoping that Sans wouldn't hate her. "Just..... why didn't you tell me? I mean, you had to have known about this 'Chara' for awhile now, right?" That's when Chara seemed to shoot awake. Chara seemed furious that Sans knew about her. Frisk was left speechless until a sharp pain went right through her neck. Trying not to make a scene, Frisk just closed her eyes and took deep breaths to keep from screaming. Sans' eye sockets got wide and said softly, "I didn't mean to scare you, I'm sorry." Frisk mumbled in a low voice, "It wasn't you...... I need a moment." She stood up carefully and made her way towards the door. Sans rushed after her, speaking quickly. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you mad, or anything. Kiddo, I shouldn't have ignored you. If you want to we could just talk about this later?" Chara's anger seemed to snap into Frisk as she practically yelled into his face, "I heard you so shut up comedian!"
Sans looked like a deer in headlights. He just walked away, his face emotionless. The pain stopped, and Frisk ran. She didn't know where she was running, she just ran. She didn't want to fight with Sans, he was her best friend. She cared for him deeply and would never want to hurt him purposely. Once Frisk finally stopped running, she saw she was in a field full of sunflowers. She lay down, and closed her eyes, letting the gentle breeze tickle her face.
