Not Expecting That

            Frisk POV:

I waited anxiously while Flowey blabbered on. "I'm gonna give that guy a peace of my mind! Ohhh, yeah. He's gonna pay! No one treats you like that Frisk!" I rolled my eyes. "It was pretty scary if I do say so myself. Seeing him that mad, you know."I stated with concern. Flowey scoffed. "What's taking this guy so long, anyway?" "I don't know. He usually shows up right away once I tell him where I am." I looked around cautiously. "Sans?" I looked toward the purple entryway. "Maybe he's further into the ruins." I walked into the purple doorway to the area where I first met Flowey. I chuckled. "Hey, Azzy, remember when you tried to kill me here?"

Flowey popped up in the middle of the room and crossed his leaf hands. "Stop dwelling in the past Frisk!" I laughed and continued going through the ruins. "Sans! Sans? Are you lost?" Flowey stayed by my side, popping up from the ground here and there. After awhile Flowey finally said, "Frisk, he's probably not even coming. I mean-" "Heya." Flowey let out a scream and whipped around. Sans stood there, with a blank expression. He seemed to be holding something. "Sans! There you are." I ran to him and immediately gave him a hug. "I'm so sorry." I could hear Flowey muttering out sounds of hate.

Once I let go I noticed Sans had a small blue tint smeared across his face. "Er- It's not your fault kiddo." He held out a small bouquet of echo flowers. "Uh, Undyne and Alphys said I was being a jerk to you, so they said I should get you something to make up for it. And I remembered your interest in these flowers. So I grabbed these on the way. And sorry for being a jerk" I grabbed the flowers from his hands and smiled. "Thank you Sans. But I'm more impressed with the fact that you walked here!" Sans put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "I needed to blow off some steam anyway." I bobbed my head up and down understandingly. I chatted with Sans awhile, mostly about echo flowers. "Kid, don't get upset or anything, but why won't you just let me help you?" My mind flashed back to all the terrible memories of my childhood. I looked at Sans and said quickly, "We should go back to the surface."

Even though I loved the underground, I would rather be on the surface. You see, the surface has a breeze, it has the wind. But the underground has no breeze. It's just still air. Frisk would've stayed with Toriel, but she longed to feel the cool air rippling through her hair. And now, she needed the air more then ever. Sans shook his head and held out his hand. I took it gratefully and we teleported to the very outside of the underground. It was the same area where me and Sans had talked at the day before. It was one of his favorite napping spots. I took a deep breath and calmed down. "My question?" Sans looked at me softly, as if he were admiring a piece of artwork. I held the echo flowers in my hands tightly. I bit my lip nervously. "You should just worry about yourself. Worry about yourself and nobody else."

Sans laughed as if I had just told the best joke in all of existence. "Kiddo, you've never followed that rule. We all know that. For you, it's very much the opposite." I looked around. There's no getting out of this one, is there?  Flowey popped up out of the ground. "Argh! I'm gonna kill that skeleton!" Sans looked down at the small flower. "You mean you've got a bone to pick with me?" I snorted. Flowey's anger seemed to grow and he began throwing his little leaf hands against Sans leg. Sans laughed and looked at Frisk. "Should I just ignore him?" I shook my head. "Yeah, probably." Sans phone began ringing loudly. He picked it up and began talking. I walked away and motioned Flowey towards me. I sat and Flowey popped up beside me.

"That guy thinks he's so great! Yeah, well I'm gonna teach  him a lesson!" I looked at Sans and he smiled at me for a brief moment before returning back to the call. "Flowey, don't do that again." Flowey frowned. "Why not? He was being a jerk to you anyway." I thought about it for a moment. "But he apologized." Flowey let our a frustrated growl. "Frisk, you can't just go around thinking that if someone apologizes that everything is alright again. Because it's not!" I looked at Flowey and let out a long sigh. "But Flowey, you apologized and I forgave. Would you have rather me not forgive and leave you all alone with nobody?" Flowey held up a leaf fist.

"You can't hold that against me! That's not fair!" I felt a small tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Sans smiling at me. "Paps invited you to dinner. And to possibly stay the night. He said Mettaton is gonna be there too." Sans rolled his eyes at the mention of Mettaton. I smiled. "Of course I'll come!" I looked at Flowey as an idea popped into my head. "Can Flowey come?" Sans looked at the Flower who was cursing at both Frisk and Sans. "Sure." I was not expecting that.
