Sans POV:

It's been a week. And it's all my fault. All of town has been searched, tomorrow we will begin searching Ebbot City, where the humans live. It's all my fault. I pulled my hoodie over my head, trying to ignore the stares of the bustling humans. I have decided to search the city early, after all, she could be in danger. I opened the door of a small cafe, walking straight to the counter. "Hello! What can I get for yo-"

"Have you seen her?" I shoved my phone in her face, wasting no time. She studied the image of Frisk. It was a photo of me, her, and Papyrus. Before all of this had happened, when we had first gotten to the surface. We were all smiling, our eyes bright.

"I don't believe I have, sorry sir." I sighed in defeat. "Thank you." I hurried back to the street, keeping my  eyes open for Frisk. I stopped at 23 places already, all of which who said they have not seen my Frisk. How come she wasn't happy about Chara being gone? I thought she didn't like her?

I shook my head, shaking away the thoughts at the same time. I don't think she's in the city. She had told me, before, that she had never liked the busyness of the town. Last stop, I thought to myself. I walked into a small diner, which seemed old fashioned, a 50s theme.

"Have you seen her?" The waitress stopped, looked at the image and smiled. "I'm glad to see she's doing well, after all, I've never heard any good things about that orphanage." My eyes widened. "You've seen her? Where did she go?"

"Frisk? I haven't seen her in about a year now."

"Oh... you have met her though, right?" The waitress sighed and smiled softly. "Yes. Every Sunday night, her parents would bring her here for dinner. Chicken tenders and fries, and a strawberry sundae for dessert, that was her order. She was probably one of the brightest children I have every met. Was."

I clenched my fist. What did happen to her parents? I had never even thought about it, but how come she abandoned her old life to just come and live with us? "What happened?" The waitress stopped smiling and nearly dropped the tray of food she was holding.

"It's... quite a grim story. It's not my place to tell you." She walked away, and delivered the food on the tray to the appropriate table. I looked at the ground. Where are you, Frisk?

~Time Skip~

Sans POV:

I looked into her files. It was wrong of me, I know, but I thought maybe it would give us hints as to where she could be. Her mother, Sarah Cramer, had been a nurse, her father worked at a bank. She had been taken from her father, for being abusive, her mother had been marked as deceased. Never would I have ever guessed that Frisk had such a tragic backstory.

Since that diner I went to was a place she was at often, I've decided to search there while everyone else is searching in the town. I stopped at the diner once again, just in case, but neither Frisk or the lady from that one day were there. Next I walked around the neighborhood, knocking on doors and asking people if they've seen her. Just the usual. I can't believe, that this, is the 'usual' now.

I knocked on the next door. Another no, and another, and another. "Have you seen her?" The man had neat hair, and nice clothing on. He smiled kindly at me and proceeded to look at the picture. Then his face dropped. "She ran away again, didn't she?" I frowned. "How... how did you know?" The man face palmed, and shook his head sorely.

"It's my fault- I was a bad man back then, I just couldn't take her in. I'm her uncle, but I'm sure you never heard of me." The man sighed, and looked away. "All she ever wanted was to escape her life. Have you read her stories? Why, she's an incredible writer. That's what she wanted to do when she grew up, you know? But it just didn't work out that way for her." The man looked at me once again. "Jeremy. That's my name, and I have an idea of where she might be."
