Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting often. I currently go to a private school and we were blessed enough to be able to return to school! We're still following regulations, but that has taken quite a bit of time off of my hands. I'm not sure when I'll be updating, but I can assure you updates will no longer take as long as this one did! Thank you for your patience, have a great day and enjoy the story! <3

Frisk POV:
Was it really a mistake? Did he really just make a stupid mistake that night? I swallowed hard, and flipped onto my side. The fluffy pillows enveloped my head and threatened sleep. I'll just rest my eyes for a second... I thought, and soon I was in darkness.
"Partner... you're fading. Soon, you'll be no use to me." I shot up, and looked around, breathing heavily. No one was in my room. I looked outside and realized it was nightfall.
I quietly got up and walked out of my room. I checked the house, to make sure everyone was asleep. I went back to my room, and closed the door. I sat down on my bed, and took my soul out. "This should work..."
I mumbled as I carefully gathered the red dripping substance in my cupped hands, and grabbed the syringe from the drawer of my nightstand. I also grabbed a stick, and put it into my mouth. I bit hard on the stick knowing this was going to be painful. I looked up at my computer screen. 'How to stop from losing determination'
There were many methods. Therapy, more exercise, eating healthily, getting enough sleep. And the more forceful method. I sighed as I put the red liquid (Otherwise known as my 'fallen determination') into the syringe. My hands shook as the needle hovered just above my soul. I just need to buy some time... I didn't want to do this, not at all. I wanted to curl up into my mothers lap, and let her pet my hair and sing to me.
I was scared, and lost. What I really need is some help, why didn't I realize that? I put the needle in slowly, and bit down on the stick so hard I thought it might break, or maybe my teeth would shatter first. I injected the 'determination' into the soul, trying to ignore the searing pain all over my body. It had to have been the worst pain I had ever felt.
I finally finished, and quickly took the needle out. I spit out the stick, and wiped my tears with my hands. I looked down at my soul, feeling nauseated. It still had the gray corner, but now it was smaller. I smiled weakly, and gently put my soul back.
I lied down, still traumatized by what I just done to myself. I felt small, and fragile in that one moment. "Goodnight..." I whispered to just myself, and closed my eyes.
Sans POV:
Somethings wrong. I sit up in my bed, my chest aching. I bring out my soul. The blue essence lights up the room. A single black tread crossed the fragile soul. That's always been there, but it had never caused any pain. I looked around my room, confused. I remembered that night Frisk had had a bad dream, and I rushed over there. Maybe she was having a bad dream now?
I stood up, and grabbed a blue sweater off of the ground. I slipped it on, and teleported to just outside Frisk's room. I knocked on the door with one hand, and wiped my eye socket with the other. I could hear some shuffling from inside the room, and then the door creaked open a crack. "Sans?" Frisk whispered, her hair messy and eye bags settled beneath her eyes.
"Hey, uh, are you alright?" I said, looking away from her eyes. "Yeah... why did you come here?" I shrugged, and looked at the floor. "Remember that night I came by when you had a bad dream? Well, the same thing kinda happened tonight too." She stared at me and opened the door wider. "You can come in, if you'd like." I stepped inside her room, and glanced around. My eyes settled on one glimmering item sitting on her nightstand.
"Frisk." I said, my voice low and deep. "Yes?" She responded. I walked to the nightstand and picked up the syringe. Nothing was inside, it was completely clean. But why would she need this? "What's this?" I turned toward her, the syringe gripped in one hand. Her eyes widened, and she looked around frantically.
"Um- wh-what is that? I could a-ask you the same question." I looked at her computer. 'How to sto-' She ran over and slammed the computer shut before I could read the rest. "You should leave." She said, not turning towards me. "I'm not leaving until you tell me the meaning of this."
She turned towards me. Her eyes were no longer the emerald green I was used to, instead they shown a dangerous red. "I said- You should leave." I stepped back. This wasn't the Frisk I knew. "Frisk?" She whipped her head back and began laughing, until she slowly stopped and walked towards me.
She had on a smirk and got right up into my face. "You think your so smart, don't you Sans?" Her words dripped with a venomous sweetness, and I was scared, that was no lie. I had my gaster blasters ready to shoot at any needed moment. She leaned in close to my ear, and whispered, "You should leave."
A chill went down my spine. She backed away from me, and smiled. But not a sweet smile, a smile that shown you were just about to be pushed off the edge.
She shook her head, and her eyes returned to green. She looked up at me, and whispered, "You should leave." She sounded scared, and so much different then what she was just a moment ago. And so I did, I left.
