Originally it was suppose to be Ian who stepped up and took the council members down from their pedestals. But, I think my story needed a little more girl power!
Marshall came out and pulled me into a hug "You were amazing." He assured pulling away to smile down at me "You really were, I knew you would be amazing." Ian came from behind Marshall and hugged me briefly before him and Marshall turned to look at West "Forgive me for doubting you. You truly were brave and spoke as a true Luna should." West complimented walking to me and hugging me tightly
"Rayne would surely be proud as well." He mumbled my heart soaring. I smiled and pulled away "Although I loved standing up for the pack..." I trailed off and nibbled on my bottom lip "You do not wish to do it unless it's truly necessary, Luna's aren't meant to run a pack alone. Just like an Alpha is not." West assured setting his hand on my shoulder "Believe me when I tell you that, every pack member in there knew the amount of guts it took to walk in there and take on alpha positions." He added causing me to let out a breath.
Marshall rubbed my arms and guided me away from the double doors of the meeting room. I felt a whole lot better when Clara and April rushed over to us and pulled me into a tight group hug "As soon as the pack members came out all we heard were amazing things about you!" April informed all my nerves disappearing as it felt as though I actually did something.
The happiness between all of us seemed to fade as James and Aaron approached us "That was a very nice speech in there Luna." James admitted bowing his head. West raised an eyebrow and smirked "Yes indeed it was." West spoke up causing James to stand straight and nod "We wish to speak with you privately Luna." Aaron jumped to the point and Ian tensed. I nodded slowly and looked over at Ian "Ian is coming with me." I informed James looking over at Ian then at me before nodding.
We walked back into the meeting room but this time Ian guided me to a smaller back room "This is Rayne's office." Ian informed me causing me to nod. His scent was strong here and I smiled to myself. I sat in his chair and Ian stood beside me as Aaron and James took a seat in the two chairs in front of Rayne's/ My desk.
I looked at them a little nervous but I knew we had scared them, they wouldn't have been here if we hadn't. James cleared his throat and finally met my eyes "Rayne was planning to leave Luna, surely you must understand what that meant for us." He informed "What it meant for the pack." He added Aaron nodding in agreement. My shoulders fell and I nodded slowly "Yes I do." I assured running my hand through my hair and glaring at them "You all shouldn't have excluded me from all of this you know. My wishes weren't to leave." I admitted James and Aaron's eyebrows scrunching on confusion "I have grown affection for this pack already... The first day here I placed a child's life before mine." I reminded James lowering his head "Maybe if I wasn't thrown against a wall, I would have been involved and all of this would have been fixed." I spat angrily. Aaron rubbed his temples before speaking "Potter acted on impulse." He defended and I glared at him "Everyone here seems to run on impulse." I shot Ian tensing as he stood now protectively since they seemed to be getting agitated "See what impulse leads to?" I pointed out James nodding "We understand that now we really do." He admitted Aaron's head moving quickly to look at him "Understand? Potter is dead!" Aaron yelled Ian growling "And our Luna was almost killed because of him!" Ian reminded causing Aaron to glare at him "Even if Rayne were to not kill him, the cost of harming our Luna or Alpha is death!" Ian exclaimed angrily Aaron sinking back into his chair as the realization came to him
"I do not wish to replace all of you.. I see you care for the pack." I admitted "But I do not think Rayne can be persuaded if he is left in confinement any longer." I pointed out Aaron standing "We have till the end of the week is that so?" Aaron asked James shaking his head "We can assure you the ruling will be made before then." James assured standing and bowing while Aaron simply walked out.
After they left I stood and looked at Ian "I believe the council members have good intentions... There's just a rotten fruit in the basket." I pointed out Ian nodding.
