Rayne's POV
I placed the folder back in the drawer and locked it securely "I don't want you around him without me there okay..." I spoke sternly and Sierra nodded.
"I know.." She assured before she jumped as the door opened revealing dad... Sierra let out a breath "Sorry did I scare you?" Dad chuckled and Sierra nodded forcing a smile.
"Luca just has her nervous." I explained pulling her into my side "It's okay, he won't hurt you." I assured kissing the side of her head.
She gripped my shirt and I felt my stomach turn at her discomfort "Baby go with Marshall and April." I mumbled into her hair before she reluctantly nodded and walked away.
Dad shook his head and let out a breath "It's been a very stressful month don't you think?" Dad chuckled as he sat in one of the chairs in front of my desk.
How could he act so innocent? He had the blood of his wife and child on his hands... I wanted to tear his head off but I kept my composure and nodded.
"Yeah, especially for Sierra." I explained dad nodding "A beautiful girl Rayne, really." Dad complimented causing me to tense "Luca says you went to go see Jim." Dad suddenly informed scrunching his eyebrows.
"He didn't really want to tell me why so I wanted you to tell me." Dad muttered his jaw clenching. I chuckled and shook my head "Can you believe this guy tried to say April was his mate as well?" I asked shaking my head causing dads eyes to widen "Really?" He questioned causing me to nod.
"So we headed to Jim to see what he could tell us. He showed us the books he was reading, some legends that would give him the ideas." I explained sitting on my desk looking down at him now.
"We suspect he is against us, but we are planning on continuing believing him. To see if we can track down Mark." I explained just syaing his name caused my wolf to stir... He had no fault in this.
This was the man I looked up to, respected, admired. He was nothing but a murderer a liar a bastard! I couldn't look at him for another second.
I eyed him as he nodded and looked down at his feet "What are you thinking about doing when you find him?" He questioned.
I thought about a good response and finally looked dad in the eye "I will kill him and anyone else who has done me, my family, and mate wrong." I replied dad tensing then nodding. I stood and adjusted my shirt "I have to get to Sierra and April who are pretty upset about all of this." I walked out without waiting for a response but couldn't care less if he got suspicious.
Soon he would be dead anyway... He was a traitor and a liar he didn't deserve to live. I rubbed the back of my neck as I got out into the hallway and I let out a breath.
I made my way to Jim's to find out he wasn't there "Jim?" I called out looking up at the shelves just to make sure he wasn't hanging from the wall book cases. I sighed and walked back out and up stairs to me and Sierra's room. I walked in to see her, April and Clara upset.
I closed the door behind me and let out a breath "Finally.." Sierra mumbled rushing to me and wrapping her arms around my neck "I was so scared..." She admitted and I could feel her heart pounding against my chest.
I held her tightly and felt my eyes begin to water, but I've cried enough today. I buried my face into her neck and took in a whiff of her scent to help me calm down "I'm okay." I assured pulling away and putting a wild strand of hair behind her ear "We told her that." April pointed out causing Sierra to roll her eyes and giggle.
"Where's Marshall?" I asked surprised he wasn't clinging to her side from what had happened "Luca suddenly disappeared." Clara informed causing me to tense "I sent some guards to look for him..." Sierra explained bashfully "Was that okay?" She asked causing me to smile "Of course that was okay." I assured kissing the side of her head.
"Now I'll order the guards to make sure every pack member is inside and secure. Including you three, four guards will be following you guys everywhere." I informed April smacking her teeth "We can defend ourselves." She pointed out causing me to groan.
"Just let me do this please, I will be at peace with the fact that you will have back up just in case something happens." I reworded causing her to nod and approach me giving me a tight hug.
She shook her head and gripped me tighter "I can't believe he did that..." She whispered sobs erupting from her... I couldn't either.
