INT. BUDAPEST AIRPORT PASSPORT CONTROL - DAY
ALI (26) is waiting in line at passport control. There's one queue for every two booths with an officer in each. Both booths in front of Ali become available.
OFFICER #1 & OFFICER #2
Next!
After a moment of hesitation Ali chooses booth #1. He hands his passport to Officer #1 sitting inside.
ALI
Hello!
OFFICER #1
(with a Hungarian accent) Coming from Istanbul?
ALI
Yes.
Ali notices Officer #2 scowling at him from the next booth.
OFFICER #1
Purpose of visit?
ALI
I came to watch Eurovision!
OFFICER #1
But Turkey doesn't compete anymore.
ALI
(discouraged) Yes, I'm aware.
OFFICER #1
OK, where will you be staying?
ALI
We rented a house, I'm meeting with friends here.
OFFICER #1
Just friends?
ALI
(confused) I used to date one of them.
OFFICER #1
I mean, do you have family or relatives in Budapest?
ALI
Oh right, of course! No.
OFFICER #1
You are alone now?
Ali is distracted by Officer #2 still scowling at him.
ALI
Yeah I haven't had a boyfriend since--
Ali stops noticing Officer #1's annoyed look.
ALI
Yes, I'm traveling alone.
OFFICER #1
And this is your first time?
ALI
Third time in Eurovision.
OFFICER #1
(smiling angrily) In Budapest?
ALI
Yes! Sorry, I'm just excited for the contest.
OFFICER #1
Maybe if you spend less time thinking about Eurovision you will find a boyfriend.
Officer #1 stamps the passport and gives it back.
OFFICER #1
Welcome to Budapest!
Ali walks out of the queue, confused.
