INT. THE RESTAURANT - DAY

Ali and Loukas are at a low-key restaurant. Rest of the tables are empty.

LOUKAS

I wish I could come out and be done with it. I'm proud of who I am. But it would be publicized and my family isn't ready for that. Have you come out to your parents?

ALI

I dropped a few hints but they gave such a cold reaction I had to stop. I will someday but of course I don't have to deal with the public.

LOUKAS

Yeah. Greece is European but it's still really traditional. A gay popstar with a Turkish boyfriend? People's heads would explode.

ALI

(smiling, quietly) Boyfriend? I think mine will explode.

LOUKAS

The kitchen is open, you want to order something?

ALI

(giggles) I love it when Greeks say "kitchen", "picture". It sounds so cute.

LOUKAS

(imitates heavy Greek accent) Thank you. I appreciate it very much.

ALI

Are you trying to make me kiss you?

LOUKAS

(still imitating the accent) Sure.

Ali looks around, then quickly gives Loukas a peck on the lips.

LOUKAS

Now that was appetizing.

ALI

We should thank Mini for suggesting this place.

LOUKAS

I get that she knows everything about the contest, but how does she know the best places for secret gay dates in the city?

ALI

Her thing with Eurovision is really bizarre. Do you know her story?

LOUKAS

No, I just met her in March, when she came to Greece to interview me.

ALI

Her father is Moroccan.

LOUKAS

Ah, she has a Muslim background too?

ALI

Yes, but she calls it her Loreen background. Loreen is more of a religion for her.

LOUKAS

Amen.

ALI

Her father was in the Moroccon delegation the only year they participated. He met Mini's mother in the Netherlands during the contest and stayed there. Years later Mini was born. She literally exists thanks to Eurovision!

LOUKAS

Wow, that's so cool! Just like our babies would.

Ali laughs.
