Chapter 21

“REGAN...oh darling it’s so nice to finally meet you!”

Opening my eyes i find we are in the ‘nuetural grounds’. Gabriella has Regan in a tight embrace and Ashton is stood leaning on nothingness watching them with amusement. Gabriella lets go of Regan to look at him.

“You must be Gabriella!”

Regan states and she smiles at him showing her perfect teeth. She turns to me and squeezes the life out of me. I watch as Regan’s gaze fall on Ashton and his eyebrows nit together.

“Ash...?”

He is looking at Ashton like he has seen him before! Ashton whoops and punches the air, he turns to his mother with a cocky grin.

“See mother...I told you he would remember me!”

He turns to Regan and grins; he has exactly the same smile as Gabriella.

“Yeah Regan...I’m here like I always said I would be!”

Regan’s face brightens as he runs full pelt towards Ashton knocking him to the ground, they roll around laughing and throwing punches. I turn to Gabriella and Raise an eyebrow.

“Well my dear...my son didn’t exactly play by the rules when he first got assigned to Regan!”

She giggles, and I roll my eyes, the boys are getting up off the floor, they wipe their hands on their jeans.

“Wow Re you got strong boy!”

Ashton slaps Regan on the back way too hard and he fly’s towards me. I catch him and turn to Ashton.

“So...you broke the rules huh?”

I nod towards Regan.

“Yeah...I had a feeling about this one, from the first time I saw him in his mother’s arms, the pull was so much stronger than with my other assignments. I felt the need to be there with him all the time, whether he was happy or sad! I started visiting him in his sleep, I got away with it for about ten years, then my mother stopped me...she said he would become too dependent on me...so I stopped!”

He walks over and put’s his arm around my shoulder. Regan looks devastated.

“Yeah...I remember the first night I didn’t dream about you I was so upset, you’re like my big brother and you just left without saying goodbye!”

Regan is whispering. he looks so sad.

“I’m sorry bro...I had no choice”

“It’s okay Ash!”

Regan smiles and looks better then he pulls me out of Ashton’s arms.

“Keep your hands to yourself!”

I know he is only kidding and I start to giggle. Ashton pulls a disgusted face.

“EWW...girls are ugly...they have girls germs”

Regan bursts out laughing and turns to me.

“That’s what I said to Ash when he told me I was falling in love with you...It was after I told him I had kissed you when you fell out of the tree!”

“Yeah...I knew from then on Regan was supposed to be with you Isabella, that’s why the pull was so strong!”

I nod I have been listening but the sadness is returning with a vengeance. Regan must feel it too because his face drops and he clenches his jaw.
