Eaterbugs only occur in the many thousands at a time, and will destroy any living thing they encounter with no exception. They do not, however, physically eat their victims. These insects will suck the essence out of their target and leave a soulless husk behind to physically die sometime later.
Little is known of them, save that the only way to escape is the use of wind or fire and hope you can run fast enough to escape.
