The Minotaur is a simple monster among many complex abominations. An amalgamation of man and ox, this monster represents the pinnacle of strength among land-locked beings. These monsters are driven intensely by rage and desire for greater strength and power. They are capable of roars that would make even the bravest warrior shake in fear.
Due to the simple nature of their being, the way to defeat them is equally simple; kill them physically, with any weapon or spell. Cutting instruments typically work better than blunt instruments due to their size, and generally, any combat magic is effective against them, as they are not capable of nullifying spells.
In combat, however, one cannot rely on strength to defeat these beasts, as any sentient creature; even most dragons; would not be able to out-force the Minotaur. They tower over any human or elf, and have greater muscle density than dragons, and have even been known to swing stone pillars as weapons. To be struck by one is certainly to lead to demise.
To win the battle, one must out-maneuver the Minotaur and attack its weak points. Ideally, this would mean utilizing one's agility to get right next to the beast on either side and cutting at its knees, rendering it incapable of running. This presents an opportunity to either run, or get behind it and kill it from behind. Any individual with some athleticism could accomplish this if careful, but having a group makes it much easier.
The only trouble is if you find yourself in a fight with multiple Minotaurs. The solution to this issue tends to be more complex, and is better addressed on a case-by-case basis.
