It was October and now Maya was getting prepared to get her act together.
She was told that there was going to be someone visiting and Maya had a good idea who it was but was unsure what she would actually do when she does see him.
She took a deep breathe as the boy of seventeen enters the apartment immediately seeing Maya sitting on the couch.
"Maya? Everything okay? Where is my brother?" Josh asked as he gave Maya a hug.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Not so sure about your brother tho. He asked me to come here. So I'm waiting to..." Maya said as she saw Cory coming through the door.
"Why am I here?" Maya asked.
"You're staying here. Your mother had to go somewhere for a few days," Cory said and Maya sighed.
"Of course. Why couldn't you just tell me that over the phone?" Maya asked.
"Because maybe you would freak out so I needed my brother to be here," Cory said and Maya grabbed her backpack.
"Stop thinking I need a guy to make me feel safe. First Eric and now Josh. I don't need someone. I'm okay on my own," Maya said.
"Let me walk you home then you can quickly pack a few things," Josh said.
