Girl Meets Best Friend

Two Years Later

Maya wakes up to her mother making a racket in the kitchen.
She sits up and goes to her closet.
She grabs a pair of leggings with a shirt and pulls it over her head before going in front.

"Morning Baby Girl," Katy said giving her daughter a hug.
"Morning Mama," Maya said and sat down on her chair.
"You are going to go to kindergarden today and after that we can figure out what to do. You start elementary school next year. You excited?" Katy asked as she put a plate of food in front of her daughter.
"Yeah. Is it going to be difficult?" Maya asked.
"Nope. Not much different than now. Why don't you finish up eating then we can get going? Mommy has to go to work and you have school," Katy said.

The girls finished up breakfast and then Katy dropped Maya off at school.
She looked around not actually knowing where to go and her mother was gone.
She couldn't breathe and then a lady came to drop her own daughter off.

"Okay Riley. Behave yourself, okay? Don't..."

She looked at the girl standing there and wondered what is going on.
She looked around not to find any mother and decided to go to the girl.

"Hey Sweetheart. What's wrong? Where's your mommy?" Topanga asked.
"She had to go to work," Maya said and saw a girl close to her age.
"I'm Riley," Riley said and Maya smiled.
"I'm Maya Penelope Hart. I don't know where to go," Maya said and Topanga smiled.
"Okay Sweetie. Come with us. I'm sure you are just confused. Let's go find out where you fit in," Topanga said and they were gone.
