Ethan's POV
Present Day

I poured Tenley a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch before adding some oat milk to it and setting it on the table in front of her.

I grabbed my coffee from the counter and sat down next to her.

Today is one of my days off, and I get to spend it with my Tenley.

"Daddy, can you tell me a story?"

"What do you wanna hear about, Lee?"

"I wanna hear another one about the girl you loved."

Gosh, my kid has such a sweet and sensitive soul. She gets that from her uncle.

"Okay. Did I ever tell you about the time we went to the race track?"

"No." She said, giggling. She's also at the age where she thinks everything is funny. It's cute.

I smiled at her and took a sip of my coffee.

"Remember when Uncle Gray and I took you to the race track?"

She giggled again. "Just tell me already!"

"Okay. I'll tell you."

A Week After The Indiana Trip
Saturday
Ethan's POV

"Ethan, what should I wear?" Emma asked. We were talking on the phone as we were getting ready to go to the race track. Grayson was coming too.

"Bundle up. It's gonna get cold later tonight, so I would wear a long sleeve, and some jeans. Maybe layer some leggings underneath. You can wear one of my sweatshirts too."

"Okay. Thanks, babe."

"No problem. I'll be at your house in about twenty minutes."

"Drive safe. See you soon."

"Thanks. Love you, girl."

"Love you too."

"Bye, babe." I said, hanging up.

"Hey, Grayson?" I called.

He came into my room from across the hall.

"Yeah?"

"We're picking up Emma, so we have to leave in about twenty minutes."

"Oh. Okay. Is she gonna be in the pits with us?"

One thing I should explain is that we had a few friends that raced at the track, so we helped them out in the pits whenever we came to races. That's how we got in for free.

"Yeah. I have a pair of headphones for her."

"Cool. I'm ready already, so we can go whenever." Gray said.

"Let's go get some coffee. We can surprise Emma."

"You are such a cheese man now, bro."

I laughed, making Grayson laugh too.

"Come on, G. Let's go."

I knocked on Emma's front door, and her mom answered.
