Bellamy stares at me as we sit there in silence. I keep making quick glances at him. Wondering what he is thinking. How can two people who barely know each other feel this way?
"My little bird."
"Grandfather." I smile looking up at him as he walks towards me. "Do soulmates exists?" I ask looking at the flower i'm twirling.
"When we are born, the soul we are given is split apart and half of it is given to someone else. Throughout our lives, we search for the person with the other half of our soul. Very few of us find it. Our people believe that a fire sits inside of our souls, waiting to ignite the moment we meet our soul mate." He smiles down at me. "One day if your are lucky you will find the person you are meant to be with." I smile up at him. We stand up, walking hand in hand.
I look back at Bellamy. Could I be feeling what grandfather told me about? Is this man my soulmate?
"Stop looking at him!" The other boy yells. "Can't you tell it's making him uncomfortable?" I glare at him. If I had my sword he would be dead.
"Enough Murphy." I look back at Bellamy. He looks at me, smiling, apologizing.
"This sucks." He mumbles.
"We brought this on ourselves." Bellamy says. He looks at Murphy. I am about to speak when the door opens. Marcus walks in with some of his guards.
"You." He points at Bellamy.
"Come with me." The guards take Bellamy. I watch, wanting to help him but I can't.
I wait with Murphy, listening to his groaning. I try to ignore him but it becomes really annoying. After hours Bellamy finally comes back. I watch them tie him back up against the wall. Once the guards are gone, Bellamy looks back at me.
"Do you know where they are?" He asks.
"Who?" I ask, confused.
"Our people. Some of them were taken." He stares at me, straining to look at me better.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I get up walking closer to him. I kneel down in front of him. "You were from the ship, the first one?" He nods. "I believe I know what happened to your people but I would have to see to be sure." He nods looking at Murphy.
"If we get out I can show you." He says as I nod, agreeing. I sit down beside him, leaning against the wall.
"What is this place?" I ask, looking around.
"Use to be a part of the ark." He follows my gaze. I look over at him as his eyes meet mine. "Our ship floated in space for almost a hundred years. We were waiting for the day the earth was survivable. Wish we knew sooner." He mumbles the last part, looking down.
"I heard of people from the sky. My father told me once that a ship came down but it wasn't on our lands. So we couldn't see it. I always wondered after that if there really was people in the sky." He looks back up at me.
"Do you get the feeling like we know each other?" He asks.
"Yeah, I do." I smile.
"Ah, kill me now." We both look at Murphy, glaring before looking at each other. Slow smiles spreading across our faces.
We talk. About our childhood, he asks me about life down here. I leave out who I really am. I am sure he heard that warrior call me Wanheda but I hope he didn't. A few more hours pass. The door opens, revealing Bellamy's other friend. The one I tried to help him save.
"Time to get out." He smiles at them. "We have a mission." I look at Bellamy before getting up. The boy puts his hand out when I try to pass. "Not you."
"Finn. Let her go. She's coming too." Finn looks at me before moving his arm. I walk past him as Bellamy follows me out of the room.
Bellamy picks up the pace, walking pass me. I follow him out till we meet a girl. She shows us the way out. I thank her as we leave, following them into the woods. We walk for a long time. Everyone and a while Bellamy's hand gets close to mine, brushing my fingers.
I smile thinking of what could be stirring inside us. If my grandfather spoke the truth then we are soulmates. Destine to be together. If we are soulmates then it will be hard to be away from each other. Our thoughts will only be on each other.
We walk till we find one of my people. They attack him, capturing him. I try to reason with Finn but it's no use. They want answers. They want to know where their people are. I stand by a tree as they sit in an underground bunker, torturing him. I can't watch. I tried to stop them but Finn had a gun. Kept pointing it at me if I tried to stop him.
"Hey." I turn to see Bellamy coming up. He walks towards me, hands in his pocket. "I'm sorry."
"I know you don't want this but it's hard to watch someone like you be tortured. I bet he doesn't even know where your people are." I say.
"He doesn't." He stands beside me, looking out at the forest. We stand there for a long time, looking out. I move my hand slowly towards his, meeting his in the middle. We lace our fingers together. Holding onto each other.
Finally Finn and Murphy come up. We break apart, looking away. We soon move on. Leaving the warrior behind. I don't even know if he's dead, don't want to. We walk till we find bodies, lying in bushes and tree's. Bellamy and Finn rush ahead stoping when they see the destruction in front of us.
One of their ships lays destroyed on the edge of a cliff. People dead for miles. My eyes scan the area, seeing the damage and destruction their ship caused. Lexa will not be happy.
I look over finding Bellamy's eyes watching me. He quickly looks back at the scene. Before he turns his head I catch the anger and sadness in his eyes. These were his people. He has the right to feel.
We are about to move on when we hear someone yelling. Bellamy and Finn soon see someone dangling from a tree. We get to work, making a makeshift rope to lower Bellamy down. As we are lowering him down, arrows fly. They have found us. I look at Finn. He gets up and starts to fire his gun into the bushes.
Murphy and I pull on the rope as fast as we can. As we pull I hear a horn. I look up realizing the sound. Acid Fog? I frown, pulling harder. It makes no sense. We are no where near Mount Weather. Bellamy and the girl reach the top. Murphy steps forward, helping them over. Bellamy breathes hard looking at me.
I open my mouth to speak when someone rushes out of the bushes. I stand up, placing my hand on my knife when Bellamy rushes pass me. Stepping back I watch as he stares at her with joy.
"Bellamy?" She stares at him.
"Octavia." He smiles, hugging her. I turn away, not wanting to see the exchange. I can tell they are siblings. They look so alike. Bellamy and Octavia pull apart looking at the rest of us. I turn my head as Bellamy steps towards me, holding onto Octavia.
"Octavia this is Clarke." He says. I nod looking down at her outfit. She must know one of us.
"Clarke?" She frowns.
"What is it?" he looks down at her.
"Nothing." She stares at me and I frown, looking away. She knows who I am. That could be a problem.
"We have to go." Finn says looking at Bellamy. He looks at the girl that is hurt and then his friends.
"I can get them back to your camp." I say. "You go with them." He stares at me and then nods. Octavia looks at me before following them. I help the girl up, positioning her arm over my shoulder. I stare forward looking at the forest around me as we walk back to camp.
