I stare at the men as the point their guns at us. I try to tell them we mean them no harm but they continue to yell at us. One of them talks into a radio.
"We have five more hostiles, one is armed. We still playing nice?" The guys says into the radio, waiting to hear what another person will say.
"Stand by." We hear into the radio. I look at the others, wondering what will happen now.
"Four of ours are dead. Kill four of them." We hear her say to the men. I want to stop them when a bullet flies out of the bushes, hitting one of them in the head. The other one turns when a spear flies out, hitting the guy in the chest.
"What...?" I start to say when a small figure comes out of the bushes.
"Bellamy?" I stare at the child. Feeling the eyes of the others on me. She steps forward into the moon light. "Clarke knew you would come." I stare at her, shocked.
"Clarke's alive?" She smiles, nodding. Then her face changes. She looks scared.
"She's in trouble." She reaches for my hand, taking it. "Come on, I'll show you."
"What about the others?" Monty asks. She looks at him.
"Still in the bunker." She says, straight face.
"What? No..."
"Come on." She pulls me. "I'll explain in the rover." I feel her small weight pulling me into the bushes as the others follow. We make it to the rover. We climb in and the little girl introduces herself.
"I'm Madi. Clarke's daughter." I hear a gasp, I know who it's from.
"You seem to know who we are, Madi." I say, ignoring Echo.
"Mama told me stories about you." She looks at the others. "She told me stories of all of you."
"Do you know where she is?" She nods.
"She's in our village. I can show you." She says. I look at the others and then at her.
"Alright, but whatever we do I need you to stay with the others. I promise I'll save Clarke." She nods, moving to sit beside Emori and Harper. Monty drives us to the village. He will drop me off and then find somewhere to hide.
We get to the village to find the prisoners standing around. I see a figure on the ground and I know who it is. Madi starts to climb over me, anger on her face.
"Madi, no." I turn to her. She looks at me nodding. I get out walking in front of the rover.
"Give me one good reason not to kill you where you stand."
"How about I give you 283?" I say holding up a cup I found on the ship. She looks at it and then nods. I put my hand up, the light from the rover backing away. Disappearing into the forest. I step forward.
"That's far enough." I stop.
"283 lives for one, she must be pretty important to you." She says. I look down at her to see her watching me. 6 years and 7 days since I left her to die. 6 years and 7 days that I had to put her away in a part of me. I never thought I would see her again. I had let her go and now I do not know what to do except save her.
"She is." I say. Diyoza nods. I watch them take Clarke away while Diyoza leads me inside one of the buildings. We walk in a little bit till she stops facing me. She speaks into her radio, asking Shaw if its true.
"Somehow they blocked the remote access to the cryo-room and the pods. We can't wake anyone up." He says over the radio. She looks at me.
"Do we have your attention now?" I stare at her.
"If anything happens to my people..."
"Nothing is going to happen as long as we can make a deal." I say. "We need your help opening a bunker. Since you're miners, that shouldn't be problem for you. If you do that, I'll let your people go." She walks off, pacing. She is thinking about it. "Once that is done, we split the valley in half. Sharing it."
"Deal." She says. I shake her hand, not fully trusting her. One of her men takes me inside their ship to where Clarke is being held. I don't know what to say to her.
They open the door and I stand in the doorway looking at her. All the emotions I pushed away flood to the surface. Everything that I felt is back. She is lying on a bench. She turns looking at me. She starts to sit up when I see her struggle. I rush in, helping her. She stares at me in disbelief. Like I am not here.
"You're really here?" I nod.
She pulls me into a hug and I wrap my arms around her. She's here, this isn't a dream. We hold each other. When she pushes back looking at me.
"Madi?"
"She's safe, in the wood with the others." I say wanting to know who madi is but not wanting to press.
"You're all alive?" I nod. "You're all still alive, Raven, Murphy?"
"Echo, Emori, Monty and Harper. You saved us all." I say.
"And now you're home." I nod tears in my eyes. She pulls me in a hug again.
"Why did she let me go?" She pulls away. I tell her the deal I made with Diyoza. We call to Raven and Murphy telling them the plan. I let them talk to Clarke. Even though they weren't close it still hurt when we thought Clarke died.
The ship lifts off and we go to Polis. The prisoners break through the rock with their machines. We soon are strapped onto rope and lowered into the bunker. I get to the bottom first. Looking around before turning to see Octavia walking up through the cloud of dust. She throws herself at me and I catch her holding her close.
"I knew you would come." She whispers. She steps back as I look around. Clarke lands behind me. Indra steps up, taking her hand. Octavia does the same. I look at Clarke to see her face. The same as mine. What is this place.
"Where's my mom?" Clarke asks.
"I'll take her." Indra says leading Clarke out. I turn to Octavia as Diyoza and McCreary.
"She looks good." She smiles but she does not know that she has been alone all these years. I turn to Diyoza as she starts to boss Octavia. This is not going to go well. We soon learn that only 814 people are alive.
We soon strap people in. Octavia goes first and the people chant as she rides up. "From the ashes we will rise." They say over and over. What have we walked into?
