"Hey Sabrina, are you doing anything this afternoon?" Y/N asked, fixing the pile of books in front of her.
"I don't think so, why?" Sabrina responded, and Y/N smiled widely at the girl.
"Cool. I was wondering if I could maybe study at your place after school today because I have a massive history test coming up, and my house is always incredibly loud and chaotic." Y/N said, and Sabrina paused for a moment or two before responding.
"That sounds fine, but just letting you know I might be a little late. I've got a WICCA meeting, but my aunts can let you in." Sabrina said, and Y/N nodded, glad that she finally had a quiet place to study.
"Cool. I'll see you after school then?" Y/N said, and Sabrina gave her a thumbs up in agreement. The girls parted ways and moved to their next classes, both eager for a quiet afternoon.
Y/N adjusted the straps on her backpack as she walked up the path to the Spellman Mortuary, the books in her backpack weighing a tone.
She fought off the creepy vibes the house was giving off before knocking on the door, expecting one of Sabrina's aunts to answer it. She did not, however, expect a gorgeous boy with shiny brown eyes and an eccentric fashion sense to answer it.
"Can I help you?" He said, his accent making the basic words sound otherworldly to her.
"Hi, uh, I'm Y/N Y/L/N. I'm a friend of Sabrina's from school, and I can safely assure myself that you are not one of her aunts." Y/N said, her words rushed slightly due to the nerves she felt looking at this boy.
He chuckled at her words and nodded, a half-smile on his face. "You're quite right, Y/N. Please, come in. Sabrina's going to be a bit late." He said, and Y/N nodded as she walked into the house behind him.
"I know she told me." Y/N said, surveying the house's beautiful interior.
"I should probably introduce myself. I'm Ambrose Spellman, Sabrina's cousin." Ambrose said, stretching his hand out towards Y/N. She shook it gently, noting the almost perfect way their hands fit together.
"I'm Y/N, but you already knew that." She replied, smiling involuntarily at Ambrose's chuckle.
"Ambrose, would Sabrina mind if I put my stuff up in her room? My back is killing me." Y/N said, and Ambrose started walking, beckon for Y/N to follow him.
"You can put your stuff in my room, it's close to hers, and I don't mind at all," Ambrose said, turning around and flashing Y/N a bright smile. She smiled back, trying to fight the blush blooming on her cheeks.
"Thanks, that's really sweet of you, Ambrose." Y/N said, following Ambrose into his room. She put her bag down near the desk like Ambrose instructed, and she stood there awkwardly, rocking on her heels.
"I like the lack of a bed frame." Y/N said, gesturing to Ambrose's bed, the mattress on the floor. Ambrose scratched the back of his neck and gave her a sheepish smile.
"I didn't get much say in decorating my room, so that was my one touch of independent flair," Ambrose said, taking a seat on the mattress. He gestured for Y/N to join him, so she sat down on the bed with a sizeable gap between them.
"I don't bite, I promise. Unless you're into that." Ambrose said suggestively, and the soft blush on Y/N's cheeks darkened significantly.
"You intrigue me, Ambrose Spellman." Y/N said, gazing at Ambrose's features as the confusion settled on them.
"And why is that, Y/N Y/L/N?" Ambrose said, adjusting his position, so his head was resting on his hand.
"You're nothing like the other boys from Greendale. I don't know what it is, but I like it. Maybe it's your funky clothes or the way you carry yourself, I don't know." Y/N said, moving slightly, so her posture was mimicking Ambrose's.
"Y/N, I'm about to do something I wouldn't normally do, and I hope you don't hate me for it," Ambrose said, and Y/N was about to protest when Ambrose's lips met hers.
The kiss was short, but when Ambrose pulled away, he noticed that Y/N's eyes were still shut. He chuckled at the sight and took one of her hands into his. "The kiss is over, you can open your eyes now." He said cheekily, and Y/N's eyes flew open.
"Sorry I, uh, wow. I've never kissed anyone before who has had that much of an effect on me. You've got magic lips, Spellman." Y/N said, and Ambrose tensed for a second before realizing that she couldn't possibly know about the Spellman family secret.
"I'm glad you feel that way, Y/N," Ambrose said, lightly brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
"And what are you going to do about it, Ambrose?" Y/N said, her voice soft and quiet in an effort to preserve the mood.
"This." He said, connecting their lips once more. This kiss was longer and contained more passion than the previous one. Y/N felt like she was having an out of body experience. She had only ever kissed two guys before Ambrose, and never had it been so quickly after meeting them.
She felt a bit weird about it, kissing one of her best friends' cousin, but there was something about Ambrose that made her unable to pull away.
"Y/N, I'm back!" The voice of Sabrina caused them to quickly jump apart, and as the two of them tried to neaten up, Sabrina's footsteps got closer.
"She's with me, cousin," Ambrose called, their hands still intertwined when Sabrina entered the room. The girl's eyes widened slightly as she looked at them, unsure of what to say.
"Um, Ambrose, Y/N. What's going on?" Sabrina said, her eyes flicking between her friend and her cousin. Ambrose smiled at her sheepishly, squeezing Y/N's hand gently.
"Well, cousin, it is a long story." He said, and Sabrina raised her eyebrows, practically begging Ambrose to tell the story.
"I think you've got some explaining to do," Sabrina said, and Ambrose chuckled meekly to himself.
"It appears that I most certainly do."
