When Lucifer first saw you, his heart stopped. He had never seen a human that entranced him like you did. He couldn't really put his finger on what it was. It might have been your aura, or maybe it was your hair.

He usually hated humans. God's creations and all weren't entirely his route, but even he had to admit there had been something right with you. Right in a way that was perfectly wrong for him.

But you were innocent. You were an innocent person, and that was rare. Rare enough that when he came to Earth for Sabrina, he also learned to come for you, and you just saw him as a regular, another human. A little broken and messed up, but he hadn't told you about his position as the king of Hell and such even if he liked to flaunt that a lot.

You talked about things that he had no idea about. The simplicity of Earth, the ease of it. The beauty of it. He hated having to think about the beauty of it because sometimes he wished he could just stay there. But he was never able to. He always had to go back to where he had come from.

You ran a hand through your hair and looked up at Lucifer as he came down. He had only just told you who he really was and while you were still getting used to the idea and whole function of it, but he had shown you some things that you couldn't have seen if he wasn't who he said he was.

But he had come up from Hell to see you again, and you missed him. You were ready for him to come back, so when you saw him at your door, you were smiling.

"Hello," you said, leaning against the door frame. Lucifer raised a small bag with a careful genuine grin.

"I've brought gifts."

You opened the door for him further and stepped aside.

"Well then, you have to come in," you told him, mock seriously. He stepped inside. He had stolen some things he knew you would like, some magical things and some regular human things. You moved across your living room, and he admired the way you did so, picking up a few loose things that you thought were taking up too much space or cluttering the room.

If he had told his Hell that he was where he was, there would be relentless uproar. A human's home because he was falling in love with a human. That had to be the most taboo thing in the Devil handbook, and yet here he was, breaking every rule he knew how to break. It was just part of his charm, you would say. You always knew exactly what to say to him.

He gave you the little bag, and you took it gingerly.

"Can I open it now?" you asked. He nodded eagerly.

"Please do."

You nodded and sat down on the back of the couch, moving the paper aside to find a necklace hidden in it besides a notebook.

"The necklace was just from that place you enjoy so much from down the street but the notebook. Well, the notebook allows you to see anything someone wrote about you. Just think about the person, and it'll show up," he told you mischievously. You raised an eyebrow and put the bag down, holding your two gifts.

"Well, in that case, may I get some assistance?" you asked, holding up the necklace. He nodded and took it. As you turned away from him, you opened up the book, thinking long and hard about Lucifer.

In front of your letters grew into a small admission of love, scribbles of absent thoughts of your hair and your innocence and how bad it was he liked you so much. You smiled to yourself.

"Turn around, let me see," he called. You shut the book tightly and turned to him, a grand smile on your face.

"What do you think?" you asked. He brushed a piece of hair out of your face and smiled proudly.

"I think you look gorgeous."

Which was true. The book just told you so.
