"Friend, you look like hell."
I looked up as Ambrose entered the library, coming to sit across from me at my table. I let out a sigh, marking my page and closing the book I was reading.
"Good to know," I groaned, running my hands through my hair.
"Did you take my advice?"
"Yep," I nodded.
I could tell Ambrose was shocked.
"Really? I didn't think you would."
"To be honest, neither did I."
"And you're still miserable?"
"It's worse. At least I had him before, if not all the way, but now he's not there and it's killing me."
Ambrose nodded, standing up and coming around the table to sit next to me. I leaned into him when he put his arm around my shoulders.
"It'll get better, friend. Hang in there."

"And then she was just... gone. I haven't talked to her since; she's been avoiding me like the plague."
Nick was currently sitting on the front steps of the Academy, talking with Sabrina about everything that went down with you the night before.
"Wow," Sabrina said, unsure of what to tell her friend. "That sucks."
Nick laughed, running his hands down his face.
"Understatement of the century." There was a pause as each waited for the other to continue. "And you know what the weirdest thing of all was?"
"What?"
"She thinks I like you."
Sabrina laughed, patting her friend of the back.
"Well, then you need to try harder to make her see that you like her."
"I don't know if I should," Nick conceded, looking at his friend.
"Why not?" She asked, confused.
"I really hurt her, Sabrina. You should of seen her face, she looked... broken. I did that. I did that."
"You're right," Sabrina agreed, and Nick looked at her confused. "You did do that. That's why it's up to you to undo it."
He sighed. "I really hate how right you are all the time, Spellman."
"I can't help it. Why did she think you liked me?" Sabrina asked, curious.
"She heard us talking earlier, about you and Harvey. She misunderstood what I said, took it the completely wrong way. If she would've heard the rest of what I said, she would've heard me asking you for advice to ask her out," he laughed, shaking his head at the bitter irony.
"Well, you know what you have to do," she said, "Try your best to apologize and let her know how much you care for her. If you can't, then at least you tried."
He nodded, standing up and heading towards the doors.
"What time is it?" He asked, looking at Sabrina.
"About three, why?"
"Three, okay. That means she's probably in the library doing homework." He smiled at Sabrina. "Might as well get it over with now."
—
"Y/N? Can we talk?"
My head shot up at Nick's voice, catching sight of him standing at the end of my table.
