We stayed up for the rest of the night, lying beside each other until Tara fell asleep. I was wondering when her roommates were going to come to bed as well and see us here, but they never came. Tara had told me they were having a sleepover in another dorm, having not invited Tara to join. She didn't seem too bothered about it, so I didn't question it.

The next morning I awoke to an empty bed.  I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. My hair was a mess and my uniform was crumpled. Luckily I had taken of my blazer and my robes, so when I put them it on the wrinkles weren't as noticeable. I began to wonder where Tara was, but she came out of the bathroom not a moment later. She was dressed in a new uniform and her hair was brushed. She looked up and a full blown grin spread across her face. She pointed at my hair and I tried to smooth it down with my hands.

"It looks nice without all that gel in it, Draco. You look very cute." Her cheeks had gone red, as had mine. I walked over to her and gave her a small morning kiss on the cheek. I knew she wasn't entirely comfortable with kissing and yesterday hadn't helped in the slightest. She blushed and wrapped her arms around my neck. The bruise was still very visible if not worse, and I couldn't help but frown at the sight of it.

"I don't have any makeup to cover it with" She said sheepishly while putting her hand up to cover it.

"That's okay. You don't have to cover it."

We walked into breakfast together that morning and we sat at the Hufflepuff table seeing as Theodore was sitting by the Slytherin one. At the sight of him I felt anger rush through my body, and I knew he would pay by the end of the day.

After classes I made my way to the Vanishing Cabinet. I had been forced to inform them it had worked now seeing as it had gone a few weeks since I actually figured it out. They wanted me to try with a bird, something alive, to make sure it was compatible with life forms traveling through the spectrum. So, that's what I did. It was almost a relief when the bird came back dead, meaning I still had some time, but not much. I decided then I had to give Tara a warning of sorts. I had to make sure she would listen to me when I told her to stay in her common room when it happened. So, I set of to find her after I had dealt with some important business involving a certain Slytherin.

She was sitting in the library with Deneuve. They were studying in silence when I approached them. Tara noticed my presence first and looked up with a smile. "Hi." she said with a welcoming smile on her face. She moved over a bit so I could sit down beside her and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. She blushed, but didn't say anything.

I waited a while before I said anything. I was unsure as to what I should say. She had gone back to silently studying and Deneuve was doing the same. If I gave her a warning, she would know I had some involvement, but I couldn't risk her getting caught in the crossfire. If she decided to stay away from me or wanted to break up, so be it. I had to give her a warning of some sort.

"Tara, I have to talk to you about something." I whispered, not wanting to face the wrath of Ms Pince if she heard me talking above a whisper.

She looked up at me, noticing the urgency and seriousness in my voice "Okay." she whispered, a concerned look on her face.
