❝ Evil comes if you call my name ❞

"You fucking useless piece of fucking shit!" I yell, hitting the smoothie maker in anger and frustration because it just stopped working. Just like that. "Fuck," I groan. It's safe to say I didn't wake up in a good mood today.
My phone rings. I don't even check who it is and when I answer I bark, "What!" I keep it on the kitchen counter, putting the person on speaker.
"Bad timing?" Jon asks.
I take a deep breath, taking my hand through my hair and put my hands on the counter, leaning on them. "What do you want?" I ask, completely fed up with this day already.
"Flyn sent us money."
My ears perk up at this. I take my phone in my hand and turn around, leaning against the counter with my hip. "How much?"
"Ten grand."
"That's not enough."
Jon sighs on the other side. "I know, but –"
"Jon," I cut him off with a warning. "We had a deal. He knows what's coming."
Jon's silent for a few moments. "Tonight?" he asks.
"Tonight," I confirm.
"Okay," he agrees as if he has any other option. He knows better than to go against me, even if he doesn't agree with everything I say or do. "By the way, Harper asked if you could let Kadie know to return at least one of her calls since you've apparently locked her in your apartment." Jon chuckles.
I frown, standing up straighter. "I haven't seen Kadie in three days."
I can just hear the laughter die on his lips. "What? Are you sure?"
"Fucking hell!" I say, now really hitting the goddamn smoothie maker.
"I'm calling everyone now. We'll be there in half an hour the latest."
