I love the light in your eyes and the dark in your heart

I don't think I have ever imagined myself being in a relationship with someone and what it would be like, but if I did, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't see this. And I don't even mean it in a bad way, it's just something completely unexpected. And Kadie staying with me means it never gets boring.

We have to go on a mission today. We're behind because of what happened to Kadience and I refused to leave her unsupervised. I can't know when the next hit will happen and I know for sure it will happen. I also didn't trust Kadie that she will stay put and won't go anywhere because she has a mind of her own and can be a pretty hard nut to crack sometimes.

I didn't tell her about having to go out tonight so she won't think ahead and make some plans by herself. As far as she goes, she's still on a house arrest and will be until I tell her otherwise. She knows it, she also knows the danger, she just likes to taste the waters sometimes. And my temper.

I know I won't be able to just snuck out because Kadie is a light sleeper and there's no way I can get past her, so I won't even try that.

I sigh to myself as I watch her read a book and make notes; probably some heavy scientific shit she can't live without. "I have to go out tonight," I announce.

She lifts her head and looks at me. "Where to?"

"Have some business to do." I tie my boots.

I hear her closing her book and when I look up, I see I successfully gained her interest. Fuck no. "Can I go with you?"

I immediately straighten up in the chair. "Absolutely not."

"Why not? I can fight like hell."

I shake my head. "You're better here when I come back, Kadie. I'm serious."

She sighs miserably, laying on the bed and spreading all fours. "Well, where else would I be? You locked me here. I feel like a fucking rapunzel."

"It's either that or you end up dead. I think I gave you an easy choice, bee."
