-This is a hard question dahil iba-iba tayo ng definition sa giving up. If this 'giving up' means hindi na talaga magsusulat kahit na kailan, sa tingin ko, dapat munang i-exhaust ang lahat ng possibility kung bakit hindi kailangang tumigil. Magsulat ka muna nang magsulat. Mag-workshop kung kailangan. Mag-improve ng skills. Magbasa at mag-research about writing. Sumubok mag-reach out sa publishers. Sumubok sumali sa writing contests: community-based o Wattpad-based at national man. Sumubok kumontrata ng beta readers to give you feedback. Sumubok humanap ng mentor. Sumubok mag-self-pub. At marami pang iba.

You see, there are a thousand ways and a thousand more starting points to launch your career as a writer. At may mga manunulat na pinag-iisipang sumuko while only trying a few options on how they will succeed. I think it will be wise to discern first kung anong klase ka bang manunulat? Do you have what it takes to put in the work?

But that's fame, not writing. Being a writer means writing stories, drafting stories, revising stories, editing stories. If you're serious, it's going to be hard. And if you're serious, you have to put in the work. So the answer would be: stop when you've put in the work and you've explored and exhausted every possibility there is to be a successful writer.

-Nothing dramatic, really. I get motivated by: a.

b. Mga readers ko (APM, family members, friends). Whenever I get discouraged or anxious to write, laging nandiyan ang APM ko para sakyan ang mga pakulo ko at ng admins sa facebook group. Laging nandiyan ang hubby ko, Kuya ko, at best friend ko to remind me why I love writing.
