The world feels smaller to me after meeting one of the investors of our company. At talagang hindi ko rin inaasahan na magpapakilala si Hendrick na anak ng investor namin na si Mr. Ramon Fernandez. Ni isang balita patungkol sa pagiging involve ni Hendrick sa aming company, walang nakarating sa akin.

Kaya naman nang magpakilala siya, halos mahilo ako kakaisip kung may nababanggit ba sa akin na tagapagmana rin pala itong si Hendrick. He's the eldest of their family and I'm really sure that he'll be the successor of it.

Dad introduced me infront of the board members and investors. I greeted them first before I formally introduced myself to them. Honestly, it was really hard because I was already talking to these professionals! Isa pa, Hendrick was just looking straight at me! He's lips are on a grim line but his eyes are telling the opposite. I remembered his eyes filled with mischief.

Malamig ang tingin ko sa unahan habang may nagpe-present tungkol sa gagawing project. I tried to look stern so they won't even think that I'm totally conquered by nervous inside.

"So from here, we'll place the sun loungers so guests will enjoy their stay at the beach. Then, there will be also a luxurious spa for the customers who were VIPs," the woman explained while pointing at the screen.

I looked at some of the board members in the other side of the table. They were talking a bit, some nodded as their approval. But then, Dad asked a question to the woman.

"What could be the difference between the regular customer and for the VIPs? Are you saying that there will be special offers for the VIPs that the regular customer wouldn't benefit unless they become one?" he asked.

Murmurs spread in the conference room like a wildfire. I heard some rants like they can't approve that but some does. Talagang hati ang mga opinyon. Bumalik ang tingin ko sa nagpe present. She seems serious too. Wala naman akong nakitang kaba. She just stood there with poise as she listens to the questions.

One man raised his hand. Kumunot ang noo ko nang makitang si Hendrick iyon. Oh my! He's really participating on it na. Samantalang ako, halos ayaw buksan ang bibig at mataman na lamang na nakikinig sa kanila.

"Yes, Mr. Fernandez? Do you have any recommendations?" it was my Mom who noticed him.

Hendrick nodded.

"If you'll allow me, Madam," he formally said, still serious.

Sumandal nang maayos si Mommy sa kanyang upuan. Dad is now smirking towards Hendrick.

"Go ahead," Mom said.

Hendrick cleared his throat and stood up with courage from his seat. All of us were looking at him. I can hear the my heart inside, thumping crazily. Bakit ganoon?

Ako pa yata ang kinakabahan kaysa kay Hendrick? He doesn't even look terrified while these professional men were looking directly at him. Maliban lang sa akin na saling pusa rito sa kanila.

"Since summer is approaching, as we all know, many tourist will try to find beach resorts that are affordable. Gaya ng napag-usapan kanina, ang beach resort ay itatayo sa Romblon. Now, it is widely known for white sand beaches. For sure, many will go there especially that we'll be opening a beach resort which is just meters away from the vast fields of Anloague. Why don't we include it in the list? May flower farm na rin doon at tiyak magugustuhan iyon ng mga turista," saglit na huminto so Hendrick at tumingin sa gawi ko.

Nagtaas ako ng kilay. I pursed my lips.

"This time, whether they are a VIP or a regular customer, they're free to roam around. I think that it's a good strategy since we're aiming to promote the place," his eyes met mine. Umiwas ako ng tingin para kumalma.
