Chapter 28

*Dean's pov*

After Raw and the Smackdown and Main Event tapings we were home for a few days since we didn't have any live shows but unfortunately we had to take Riley for his 4 month check up today...I sat in the doctors office holding Riley while Adri sat reading a booklet "How many does he have to get?"

Adri shrugged "2 I think."

I groaned "Damn."

She looked at me "You act like you're the one getting the shots..."

I nodded "My son is about to get stabbed in his legs."

Adri shook her head "He's mad for like a minute then he's good."

I sighed "Poor little guy...and he's sleeping."

She smoothed her hand over his head "He's tough like his daddy."

I nodded "Yeah."

Adri looked up as the nurse walked in "Hi Karen."

Karen smiled "So is daddy holding him this time?"

I shook my head "No."

She nodded "First time coming?"

I nodded as Adri took Riley "Yeah."

Karen gave me a small smile "It gets easier I have 5 kids and each time it's hard to see them get shots as babies but it does get easier."

I nodded slightly as I stood back watching...it honestly broke my heart to hear Riley cry like that..I could tell it broke Adri's heart too...after it was all said and done we went out to lunch..Riley was passed out on Adri's chest as we ate "I feel awful that I missed the last time."

Adri shook her head "Don't do that you couldn't help it.."

I sighed "I'm his dad..I should be there every time..it shouldn't be all on you."

She sighed deeply "Jon...you had to work...you had a storyline to keep up...I didn't...you're not a bad dad because you missed some shots...it fact you calling to make sure he was okay afterwards is being a damn good dad."

I nodded "I know I'm a good dad I just can't stand seeing it then knowing you did it all on your own."

Adri shook her head "I didn't mom went with me and I wanted to cry with him...my baby was in pain and I felt awful that I couldn't hold my own son while he got shots."

I looked at her "Why didn't you tell me that?"

She shrugged "Because I realized how silly it was we're first time parents were getting used to all this..."

I leaned across the table and pressed my lips lightly to hers "I love you."

Adri smiled "I love you too."

I sat back "So you ready for Monday?"

She sighed deeply "Possibly passing off the WWE Universe...not really."

I chuckled "Wonder if they'll think Colby is trying to take you."

Adri laughed "I hope not."

I laughed "Yeah."

She smiled softly "We should get him home."

I went and paid while Adri got Riley settled in his car seat...I picked up his seat "C'mon batbaby."

Adri picked up the diaper bag she held onto my hand as we made out way to the truck..she nudged me "You got some fans waiting."

I smiled slightly "Do you mind?"

She took Riley's seat "Sign away."

I smiled slightly as I began taking pictures and signing autographs...my gaze met Adri's as she signed a couple autographs before getting in the truck.. I smiled as I signed one last picture "Alright guys I gotta get my kid home."

The kids nodded and ran off

Adri gave me a small smile as I got in "Let's go home Ambrose."

I laughed as I buckled up and drove off...after getting Riley to bed I sat on the couch with Adri more like laying on the couch..."Would you do this again?"

She looked at me "Do what?"

I smiled slightly "Have another baby."

Adri nodded slightly "I would not any time soon but yeah I wouldn't mine 1 or 2 more."

I raised an eyebrow "I thought you said no on that many."

She nodded "At first I didn't...but I wouldn't mind a big family."

I moved her hair out of her face "I'll give you whatever you want."

Adri smiled softly "Yeah."

I kissed the top of her head and slowly drifted off to sleep...I woke up to the sound of Riley crying and Adri asleep beside me..I rubbed my eyes and got up heading upstairs...I walked around soothing Riley..I had to smile as a I started humming to him he whimpered slightly as he looked at me..I bounced him slightly "Shots suck don't they little guy....you know I don't know how your mom does it...she's working..dealing with me...all our responsibilities with work and yet she's completely devoted to you without missing a beat...I know she's not keen on having a Nanny while we're on the road but I'm trying to talk your Nana into coming along instead so she gets more time with you...I know she misses you dearly...you're gonna love this life when you're older.."

"I'm sure he will."

I looked over seeing Adri..."Hey.."

Adri walked in "Did you give him Tylenol?"

I nodded "Yeah..."

She smiled softly kissing his forehead "My poor baby boy."

I smiled "Daddy has it under control."

Adri smiled "I see that...so I'm gonna go order dinner..I just don't feel like cooking."

I nodded "Alright."

She kissed my cheek and walked out

When it was obvious Riley wasn't going back to sleep I took him downstairs..and after some great food some amazing family time we were all beyond tired but Adri felt better about keeping Riley with us for tonight just in case of course I wasn't going to argue it..I looked at my peacefully sleeping son..he was getting some hair which was a mess much like mine...it still baffled me how much he looked like me but he acts just like Adri...I turned off the lamp and settled into bed with my family

AUTHOR'S NOTE

How sweet was Dean's reaction to his first time going to the doctor with Riley...and of course Adri's encouraging him that he's a good dad..

Next chapter will pick up at Smackdown after Seth and Adri walk away from the Shield to make their point about the fighting...and Adri will be returning to the ring in a match.

This was rather short but I thought we needed a cute little family moment in there..with Dean being daddy.
