Chapter 30

*Adri's pov*

That Thursday morning Dj's body arrived IN Memphis and the funeral was set for Saturday which was today...my dad was keeping Riley for the day so me and Dean could attend...I stood in front of the mirror smoothing out my long sleeved black dress...keeping everything else minimal..I sat down pulling on my black pumps..I looked up seeing Dean walk out of the bathroom..I stood up "I'm ready."

Dean kissed my forehead "Let's go."

I sighed and we walked downstairs and kissed Riley goodbye we headed out for the service...I sat at the graveside holding on to Dean's hand while Mom sat with Dj's mom Theresa...I could see Sara sitting there with Matt...I stood up to give my eulogy...I took a deep breath "I was 7 when Dj's dad married my mom...and he became an instant big brother....anything I needed he was there...just a few months ago he met my son for the first time and it was something I had waited to see....I never thought it would be the last time I'd seen him hold him....Dj was the kindest person I ever had the honor to know he loved with his whole heart and then some...Dj...I'll miss you always"

Theresa stood up and hugged me "He did adore you Adri..step sister or not."

I nodded fighting back tears "He was an amazing guy through and through."

She smiled threw her tears "Indeed he was."

I nodded and sat down...after the service everyone gathered at Theresa's...I placed a hand on Dean's chest "I'm gonna step outside."

Dean nodded "Be careful Matt is here."

I nodded "I will."

He kissed my temple "Okay"

I nodded and walked outside...it was still rather chilly considering it was still early March so I slipped on my coat..I leaned against the railing of the front porch watching the young kids play in their yards..I turned as I saw Sara stand beside me "Don't start Sara I'm not in the mood to deal with you today."

Sara sighed "Losing my dad and brother in a year changes you.."

I nodded "Yeah.."

She nodded "I was wrong for what I said last year...you had every right to be there as I did...I just couldn't stand that Ana and Dad hated Matt so much but loved Jon..who you should meet by the way I think you'd like him"

I sighed "Matt Teller right."

Sara nodded "Yeah..did Dj tell you."

I sighed deeply she may not believe me but despite all that had happen in the past year she was still my big sister.."Remember that guy who beat me up in college really bad...almost killed me?"

She nodded "Yeah the fucktard got off for lack of proof.."

I sighed "It was Matt...your Matt."

Sara just looked at me "Are you sure I mean Matt is a very common name."

I nodded "He was working for the WWE as security last year right?"

She nodded slowly "Yeah said some chick came on to him and got him fired."

I sighed "I was that chick...it was 2 weeks before my wedding I had just found out I was pregnant...he backed me into a wall...threatened me...then he slapped me."

Sara sighed "Oh my god...Adri I..."

I shook my head "You didn't know.."

She sat down on the swing "I can't believe I'm married to the man that tried to kill my sister...he is so good to me Adri."

I sat beside her "He was to me too at first...I'm telling you this because losing Dave and Dj....we need each other....and no I can't sit back and let you be with Matt not when I know how he is."

Sara nodded "Can we start over be like we were...I want my sister back."

I smiled "Of course...but what are you gonna do about Matt?"

She sighed "Divorce."

I nodded "Do that and come down to Tampa."

Sara nodded and hugged me "Thank you....when can I meet your son?"

I smiled softly "Come with me and Jon later and you can he's at my dad's."

Matt walked up "What's going on here...Sara come here now we're leaving."

I stood up blocking Sara "She's not going anywhere with you."

He glared at me "Move out of my way Adrianna she's coming with me now"

I smacked his hand away from her "No.."

Sara sighed "Adri it's okay."

I looked at her "Oh my god he's hit you hasn't he?"

She looked down at her shoes

I pushed him back "Stay the hell away from her."

Matt laughed "Oh so now you are the caring sister...hilarious."

I gave him look "It's none of your damn business...now get the fuck out before I go in there and let everyone know what you've done."

Matt grabbed my wrist jerking me towards him "Try me Lawler."

Dean walked out "I advise you to get your hands off my wife now."

He dropped my wrist and put his hands up "Then tell your wife to stay out of my business."

I shook my head "He's hitting Sara"

Lee who was Dave's brother stepped up grabbing Matt by the throat "My niece...you put your hands on my niece."

Dean pulled me back to him "We're leaving."

I stopped "But Sara."

Mom spoke "I'll take her to get her belongings and bring her back here."

I walked over wrapping my arms around Sara in a hug "I love you Sara."

Sara sighed "I love you too little sis."

I smiled softly "Call me anytime."

She nodded "I will."

I nodded and left with Dean as I saw cops pulling up..I looked at Dean as we headed back to Dad's "I'm okay you know."

Dean nodded "I know you are....so things with Sara okay?"

I nodded "Yeah...we're okay."

He nodded "Good."

I nodded "Yeah."

Dean looked at me as we pulled into dad's "Sara will be fine...she's tough."

I nodded "I know she is."

He nodded as we got out "Let's see our boy."

I smiled as we walked inside

*Dean's pov*

After a dinner we all sat in the living room watching a movie Riley was asleep on Jerry's chest..I had my arms around Adri as she leaned against my chest "I love you."

Adri smiled softly "I love you too."

I nuzzled her ear "You know you need to live for him now...you're the only one who can tell Riley how great his Uncle Dj was."

She nodded "I know."

I nodded "We should put Riley to bed...and get to bed ourselves.."

Adri stood up and walked over slowly picking up Riley "Dad go to bed."

Jerry stood up with a yawn and walked off

I turned off the tv and the lamps and we went upstairs to bed...

Sara and Adri are on good terms for the first time in a long time....what has become of Matt...and will Sara make the move to Florida.
