Here's the next part :) glad you guys like it so far. Enjoy!
“I’m bored,” Addie whined.
“Then do something about it,” I said, flipping through one of her People magazine.
“Want to go swimming?” she asked. I looked up and raised my eyebrows.
“No swimming suit,” I said. I looked back down at the magazine.
“Oh, you can borrow mine,” she offered. I shook my head.
“Yours aren’t exactly swimming suits,” I said. She laughed.
“Come on, I’m bored,” she begged. I sighed and put the magazine down.
“Only for a little bit,” I said. She nodded and handed me a red bikini.
“That’s the one that covers the most,” she said. I looked at it skeptically but went to put it on anyways. I looked at myself wearing it and suddenly grew uncomfortable. It barely covered anything. I looked as Addie came out showcasing her bikini, which was, in fact, less coverage than mine.
“Ready?” I asked. She nodded and threw a towel at me which I wrapped around myself to cover myself up. We went back outside to the house pool. Addie’s family was a bit rich.
“Remove the towel,” Addie prodded. She was already in the water.
“I’m going to tan,” I said. I applied some sunscreen on myself as to block out some of the sun and picked up sunglasses that were lying on the ground, and put them on. They were aviators and probably Addie’s. She had a habit of leaving stuff outside.
I laid the towel on the ground and turned myself on my back. I sighed in contentment and closed my eyes.
I hated swimming, and the only thing I did at the beach was tan. I guess I would love swimming if I knew how. I just never bothered to learn and this one time when I was 10, I tried swimming and nearly drowned. Luckily, Elliot was there and fished me out. I’ve been scared since and never really wanted anything to do with swimming.
Suddenly, I heard wolf whistles. I opened my eyes and sat up, seeing all the guys come out. They were all in their swim trunks.
“Pigs,” Addie muttered, but loud enough for them to hear.
“I heard that,” Luke said.
“You were supposed to,” Addie said, getting out of the water.
I took my towel and quickly wrapped it around myself. I looked over to the guys, hoping to catch Luke’s gaze but instead caught Declan’s.
“Those are my sunglasses,” he said. I blushed instantly.
“Sorry,” I said. I took them off and stood up to hand them to him. As I walked over, Luke looked over, amused. He jogged over and picked my up, throwing me over his shoulder.
“Put me down,” I said, my face getting hotter.
He removed my towel and threw it away. I saw that we were nearing the pool and my heart raced.
“No, please no!” I screamed.
“Luke don’t, she can’t-“
Before Addie could finish her sentence, I was already thrown into the pool. I struggled to swim to the surface. My lungs were burning and I felt like I was slowly slipping away.
Why wasn’t anyone helping me up? Are they just going to leave me here to drown?
I heard a splash in the water and then a hand grabbed me around the waist and pulled me up. As I resurfaced, I was coughing up water and trying to get in all the oxygen I could.
“Oh God, are you okay?” Addie asked, crouching over me by. She smoothed away my hair. I nodded weakly. I looked and saw that Declan was also wet. When I looked at him, he stared at me blankly, again.
“Thanks,” I croaked. I blinked back tears. I guess I was so scared of drowning without anyone to help me.
“You asshole! Why’d you do that? She can’t swim!” Addie yelled and advanced on Luke. She slapped him chest with every word.
Luke raised his hands in surrender. “Hey, I didn’t know.”
“She could’ve died!” Addie said.
“I’m fine,” I said. I blushed instantly as I saw all the guys were crowding us.
I stood up and Chris handed me my towel. I smiled shyly at him, and proceeded to wrap the towel around myself and then walk inside the house, Addie hot on my heels.
Once I got inside her room, I changed back into my clothes and got out, falling on the bed.
“Are you okay?” Addie asked.
“Yeah,” I said.
“Luke is an ass, I don’t get why you like him,” she said. I shrugged. After this incident, I still can’t believe I might still.
“I don’t know, I can’t help it,” I said. “Besides, he didn’t know.”
Addie shook her head in disbelief. “You’re hopeless.”
“Maybe I am,” I said shrugging. Addie shook her head once more.
Addie looked at my hand. “What are you holding?”
I raised my left hand and noticed I was clutching on to the sunglasses still. I loosened my grip and saw that it was all messed up. I sighed.
“It’s Declan’s sunglasses,” I said.
“Oh, those are Raybans. They’re his favorites,” she said. “But don’t worry about it, he doesn’t wear them that much anyways.”
I still felt bad. I’d have to get him new ones or something. I mean, he did save my life after all. I owed him that much, and maybe more.
*Isn't Luke such a meanie?
